Saturday February 13
Leicester City v Liverpool
12.30pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester
Leicester drew 0-0 away to Wolves last week and they’re still only two points behind second placed United. They have lost as many home games as they have won so far, but their away record is keeping them in the top four. They have only lost once in their last 10 games and they kept clean sheets in five of those games.
James Maddison and Harvey Barnes could be the Leicester players to have in this game while Jamie Vardy is back from injury, but James Justin is out with a knock.
Liverpool lost 4-1 at home to City last week and they’re three points behind Leicester going into this game. They have taken 10 points from their last five away games and they scored 13 goals in those games. They have only won two of their last nine games and they failed to score in five of those games, but only United have scored more goals.
If Liverpool are going to improve then it’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane who will do well for fantasy managers.
I think this is going to be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the spoils shared.
Prediction: 1-1
Crystal Palace v Burnley
3pm GMT, Selhurst Park, London
Palace lost 2-0 away to Leeds last week, but they’re still only three points off the top half of the table. They have won two of their last three home games and they kept clean sheets in those two wins, but only two other teams have conceded more goals at home. They have only won three of their last 10 games and they failed to score in five of those games with only West Brom conceding more goals.
With Wilfried Zaha injured Eberechi Eze could be the Palace player to impress for fantasy managers, but they don’t tend to do well without Zaha.
Burnley drew 1-1 at home to Brighton last week and they might be only one spot above the relegation zone, but they have eight points to spare over the teams below them. They have only won once in their last five away games and they only scored one goal in those games with no other team scoring less goals on the road. They have won five and lost five of their last 12 games, but no other team has scored less goals.
With two games this week Burnley players look tempting to fantasy managers and Nick Pope is the best of them with some of their defenders worth considering too mainly due to their prices.
I don’t think we’ll see too many goals in this game and the chances are it will end in a draw.
Prediction: 0-0
Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur
5.30pm GMT, Etihad Stadium, Manchester
City won 4-1 away to Liverpool last week to move five points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand on the teams chasing them. They have won their last five home games without conceding a goal with no other team taking more points or conceding less goals at home. They have won their last 10 games and they only conceded two goals in those games with no other team conceding less goals.
With Kevin de Bruyne still injured Ilkay Gundogan, Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden are the attacking players who can make a difference for fantasy managers while all of City’s defenders and keeper are great choices too.
Spurs won 2-0 at home to West Brom last week and they’re still only four points off the top four. They have only won once in their last six away games, but only City have conceded less goals on their travels. They have lost three of their last four games, but only City have conceded less goals.
Harry Kane’s unexpected return from injury last week was a welcome boost for fantasy managers and his presence also makes Heung-Min Son a better option too.
I think City will continue their impressive run by taking the three points in this game.
Prediction: 3-1
Brighton And Hove Albion v Aston Villa
8pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton
Brighton drew 1-1 away to Burnley last week and they now have 10 points to spare over the bottom three. They’re unbeaten in three home games and they kept clean sheets in their last two games at home, but only the bottom three have taken less points on their own patch. They have taken 11 points from their last five games and they kept clean sheets in four of those games.
Brighton’s defenders have done quite well recently for fantasy managers with Lewis Dunk the pick of them.
Villa won 1-0 at home to Arsenal last week and they’re only five points off the top four with two games in hand on most of the teams ahead of them. They won their last away game at Southampton after losing the previous three with only City and Chelsea conceding less goals away from home. They have lost four of their last seven games, but no other team has drawn less games.
Jack Grealish is still the outstanding Villa player for fantasy managers with Emiliano Martinez, Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore and most of their defenders doing very well too.
I think this will be a very close game, but Villa will probably win narrowly.
Prediction: 1-2
Sunday February 14
Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers
12pm GMT, St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton
Southampton lost 3-2 away to Newcastle last week, but they’re still only three points off the top half of the table despite their recent poor run. They have only won once in their last five home games and they only scored two goals in those games. They have lost their last five games and they conceded 18 goals in those games while they have failed to score in six of their last nine games.
James Ward-Prowse remains a good choice for fantasy managers while Danny Ings should be considered too.
Wolves drew 0-0 at home to Leicester last week, but they’re still in 14th place and looking less likely to improve on that position each week. They haven’t won in their last six away games and only two other teams have scored less goals on the road. They have only won two of their last 13 games and they failed to score in six of those games.
I can’t see any Wolves players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
I think this will be a close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw.
Prediction: 1-1
West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United
2pm GMT, The Hawthorns, Birmingham
West Brom lost 2-0 away to Spurs last week and they’re still only one point above the foot of the table and 11 points from safety. They haven’t won in six home games and they conceded 24 goals in those games with no other team taking less points or conceding more goals at home. They have only taken six points from their last 13 games and no other team has conceded more goals.
Matheus Pereira is the only West Brom player who can make any sort of impression for fantasy managers.
United drew 3-3 at home to Everton last week and they’re now five points behind City at the top of the table and they’ve played a game more. They’re the only team unbeaten away from home and no other team has taken more points or scored more goals away from home. They have only won once in their last four games, but no other team has scored more goals thanks mainly to the nine goals they put past Southampton a few weeks ago.
Bruno Fernandes continues to be the United player of choice for fantasy managers while Marcus Rashford and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are worth considering too.
I think United should have far too much for West Brom and should win with a few goals to spare.
Prediction: 0-3
Arsenal v Leeds United
4.30pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London
Arsenal lost 1-0 away to Villa last week and that defeat saw them drop back into the bottom half of the table. They are unbeaten in five home games and they have kept clean sheets in their last three games at home with only City conceding less goals at home. They have lost their last two games after going unbeaten in the previous seven with only City and Spurs conceding less goals.
Bukayo Saka is the Arsenal player most likely to make an impression for fantasy managers at the moment and he’s still available at a good price.
Leeds won 2-0 at home to Palace last week to move one point and one place ahead of Arsenal going into this game. They have won three of their last four away games and they scored 10 goals in those games with only two other teams scoring and conceding more goals at home. They have won six of their last 10 games, but only two other teams have conceded more goals.
Patrick Bamford is doing very well for fantasy managers while Stuart Dallas, Raphinha and Jack Harrison are in very good form too.
I think this is going to be yet another very close game with Arsenal possibly shading it by the odd goal.
Prediction: 2-1
Everton v Fulham
7pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool
Everton drew 3-3 away to United last week and they’re only three points off the top four with two games in hand on most of the teams above them. They have only taken one point from their last three home games and they only conceded one goal in those games. They have only won once in their last four games and they play City and Liverpool in their next two games.
If Dominic Calvert-Lewin is passed fit to play then James Rodriguez could be the Everton player to have as they play twice this week.
Fulham drew 0-0 at home to West Ham last week, but they’re now eight points below 17th place. They have only lost one of their last six away games, but no other team has drawn more games away from home. They haven’t won in 12 games, but they drew eight of those games with only Brighton drawing more games.
I can’t see any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
I think Everton should win this game by a couple of goals even if DCL is missing.
Prediction: 2-0
Monday February 15
West Ham United v Sheffield United
6pm GMT, London Stadium, London
West Ham drew 0-0 away to Fulham last week and they’re still within one point of fourth place. They have only lost one of their last five home games and only three other teams have taken more points at home. They have only lost once in their last nine games and they kept clean sheets in four of those games.
Aaron Cresswell and Tomas Soucek are both very good options for fantasy managers, but Michail Antonio is probably the best choice in the West Ham team once he’s fit enough to play.
United lost 2-1 at home to Chelsea last week and they’re still at the bottom of the table with 12 points to make up on 17th place. They have lost nine of their 11 away games with no other team taking less points on their travels and only two other teams scoring less goals. They have won three of their last six games, but no other team has lost more games and only Burnley have scored less goals.
I can’t see any United players who might make a difference for fantasy managers at the moment.
I think United will make life difficult for West Ham, but the home side will take the three points.
Prediction: 2-1
Chelsea v Newcastle United
8pm GMT, Stamford Bridge, London
Chelsea won 2-1 away to Sheffield United last week and they moved up to fifth place with the top four only a point ahead of them. Only two other teams have taken more points at home and only City have conceded less goals on their own ground. They have taken 10 points from four games since Thomas Tuchel took the reins and they only conceded one goal in those games.
Chelsea’s defenders and keeper are all looking pretty good for fantasy managers at the moment with Mason Mount worth considering too.
Newcastle won 3-2 at home to Southampton last week and they’re now 10 points clear of the relegation zone. They won their last away game after losing the previous five and only three other teams have scored less goals on the road. They have taken six points from their last three games after failing to win the previous nine with only two other teams conceding more goals.
With Callum Wilson injured I can’t see any Newcastle players to interest fantasy managers.
I think Chelsea should win this game easily enough now that Newcastle are without Wilson for a couple of months.
Prediction: 3-0
Tuesday February 16
Burnley v Fulham
6.00pm GMT, Turf Moor, Burnley
Burnley play their second game of the week and those two games give them a good chance to move up a few places in the table. They have taken 14 points from their last eight home games, but only two other teams have scored less goals at home. After a slow start to the season they have the opportunity to finally dispel any relegation fears this week.
With two games this week Burnley’s keeper and defenders are definitely worth considering for fantasy managers.
Fulham play their second away game of the week and that might suit them as they have done better away from home recently. If they can turn some of their away draws into wins they might have a chance of staying up, but time is running out for them. The chances are it’s too late already though for them and the rest of the bottom three.
As I mentioned already I can’t see any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers this week despite them having two games.
I think Burnley will get the three points in this game, but there won’t be too much between the teams.
Prediction: 1-0
Everton v Manchester City
8.15pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool
Everton play their second home game of the week and they will find City a lot tougher than Fulham. Their away form has been much better than their home form so far. If they can come through this game and the three games after it still in contention for a top four finish they have a real chance of achieving it.
As well as Everton players might do against Fulham they probably won’t get too many points for fantasy managers in this game.
City play their second game of the week and they have an opportunity to open up a healthy lead at the top of the table. They have won their last five away games and they scored 15 goals in those games while only conceding two with no other team conceding less goals on their travels. They’re on an incredible run at the moment and they’re threatening to run away with the league.
City players are at a premium for fantasy managers this week as long as they don’t suffer from the dreaded Pep Guardiola rotation.
I think Everton will give City a run for their money, but City will take the three points.
Prediction: 1-3
That’s it for this week.
See you next week.
