Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 25

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t have the best week again last week with one perfect prediction, four correct outcomes and seven incorrect outcomes, but it was still enough to keep me on top of my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

Friday February 19

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leeds United

8pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves came from behind to win 2-1 away to Southampton last week and move up to 12th in the table. They have only won once in their last five games and they have lost as many games as they have won at home. They have taken seven points from their last three games after failing to win their previous eight and only four other teams have scored less goals.

Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves have done fairly well recently for fantasy managers and they’re certainly worth considering.

Leeds lost 4-2 away to Arsenal last week and they’re only two points ahead of Wolves going into this game. They have won as many away games as they have lost away from home with only United scoring more goals and no other team conceding more on the road. They have lost two of their last three games and no other team has drawn less games with only West Brom conceding more goals.

With two games this week Leeds players are looking pretty good for fantasy managers with Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas, Jack Harrison and Raphinha the pick of the bunch.

I think this will be a very close game with Wolves possibly winning narrowly.

Prediction: 2-1

Saturday February  20

Southampton v Chelsea

12.30pm GMT, St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton

Southampton lost 2-1 at home to Wolves last week and they’re now down to 13th place as their poor run continues. They have lost their last three home games and no other team has drawn less games at home. They have lost their last six games and they conceded 20 goals in those games.

Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse are the only Southampton players to interest fantasy managers at the moment even though they do play twice.

Chelsea won 2-0 at home to Newcastle last week and that win was enough to move them back into the top four. They have won three of their last four away games and they have a fairly good run of away games on the horizon. They have taken 13 points from their last five games since Thomas Tuchel took the reins and they only conceded one goal in those games.

Chelsea’s defenders and keeper are looking very good for fantasy managers at the moment while Mason Mount is worth considering too.

I think Southampton’s woes will continue with Chelsea taking the three points in this game.

Prediction: 0-2

Burnley v West Bromwich Albion

3pm GMT, Turf Moor, Burnley

Burnley won 3-0 away to Palace and drew 1-1 at home to Fulham last week and they’re now eight points clear of the bottom three. They haven’t won in their last three home games and only the bottom three clubs have scored less goals at home. They have taken 11 points from their last seven games, but only Sheffield United have scored less goals.

Nick Pope is still the Burnley player most likely to make an impression for fantasy managers.

West Brom drew 1-1 at home to United last week and they’re now 12 points from safety with only 14 games left to play. They have lost their last three away games with only Sheffield United taking less points on their travels. They haven’t won in their last six games and no other team has conceded more goals with only two other teams scoring less.

Mbaye Diagne could be the West Brom player for fantasy managers to keep an eye on.

I think Burnley will put a huge gap between themselves and the bottom three by taking the three points in this game.

Prediction: 2-0

Liverpool v Everton

5.30pm GMT, Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool lost 3-1 away to Leicester last week and that result saw then drop to sixth place in the table. They haven’t won in their last five home games and they have only scored two goals in those games, but only City have taken more points at home. They have lost their last three games and they have only won two of their last 10 games with only the top two scoring more goals.

Mohamed Salah is still one of the very best choices for fantasy managers despite Liverpool’s recent woes.

Everton lost 2-0 at home to Fulham and 3-1 at home to City last week and they missed their chance to move into the top four as a result. They have taken 17 points from their last seven away games with only the top three taking more points on the road. They have only won once in their last six games and they conceded 12 goals in those games with no other team in the top half of the table conceding more goals.

I’m not sure there are any Everton players doing enough to warrant interest from fantasy managers at the moment.

This is a very tough game to call, but I think Liverpool might just put their woes at home behind them and take the three points in this game.

Prediction: 3-1

Fulham v Sheffield United

8pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London

Fulham won 2-0 away to Everton and drew 1-1 away to Burnley last week, but they’re still in the bottom three and six points behind 17th placed Newcastle. They haven’t won in eight home games and no other team has taken less points or scored less goals at home. They have only lost three of their last 13 games, but they drew nine of them and only Brighton have drawn more games.

I’m still not sure there are any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

United lost 3-0 away to West Ham last week and they’re still rooted to the foot of the table with their chances of avoiding relegation almost gone. They have won two of their last four home games, but no other team has taken less points at home. They have won three of their last seven games, but it will take a lot more wins to save their Premier League status and no other team has scored less goals.

I can’t see any United players who might make a difference for fantasy managers at the moment.

This is a huge game for two teams who badly need points to try to survive and I have a feeling United might just edge it.

Prediction: 1-2

Sunday February 21

West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur

12pm GMT, London Stadium, London

West Ham won 3-0 at home to Sheffield United last week to move up to fifth place and they’re only outside the top four on goal difference. They have won three of their last four home games with only three other teams taking more points at home. They have taken 19 points from their last eight games and they kept clean sheets in five of their last nine.

Aaron Cresswell and Tomas Soucek are probably the best of the West Ham players for fantasy managers with Michail Antonio worth considering too if he’s fit to play.

Spurs lost 3-0 away to City last week and they’re down to ninth in the table. They have only won once in their last seven away games, but only three other teams have conceded less goals on the road. They have lost four of their last five games and they failed to score in three of those games with only three other teams conceding less goals.

Spurs players aren’t looking too good for fantasy managers at the moment, but Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are still pretty good options.

I think West Ham will continue to climb the table by winning this game by a single goal.

Prediction: 2-1

Aston Villa v Leicester City

2pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham

Villa drew 0-0 away to Brighton last week and they’re still only six points off the top four with two games in hand. They have won three of their last four home games and they kept clean sheets in those three games. They have taken 10 points from their last six games and they kept clean sheets in four of those games with only City conceding less goals.

Jack Grealish, Emiliano Martinez, Ollie Watkins and Matt Targett are all doing very well for fantasy managers and they’re all worth having.

Leicester came from behind to win 3-1 at home to Liverpool last week and they’re only off second place on goal difference. They’re unbeaten in their last seven away games with only United taking more points and only City conceding less goals on the road. They have taken 22 points from their last 11 games and they kept five clean sheets in those games.

James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are the Leicester players to have for fantasy managers with Jamie Vardy worth considering too.

I think this will be a very close game with Leicester’s away record probably making them favourites to win.

Prediction: 1-2

Arsenal v Manchester City

4.30pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal won 4-2 at home to Leeds last week to move back into the top half of the table. They have taken 12 points from their last six home games and they kept clean sheets in three of the last four on their own patch. They have taken 20 points from their last 10 games and they kept clean sheets in five of those games with only three other teams conceding less goals.

Bukayo Saka is the Arsenal player to have for fantasy managers with Emile Smith-Rose a possible option too and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has five goals in his last two starts.

City won 3-0 at home to Spurs and 3-1 away to Everton last week to go 10 points clear at the top of the table. They have won their last six away games and they scored 18 goals in those games with no other team conceding less goals away from home. They have won their last 12 games and they kept clean sheets in nine of those games with no other team conceding less goals and only United scoring more.

If he’s fit to play Ilkay Gundogan is the attacking City player to have for fantasy managers with Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden good options too while all of their defenders and keeper are in great form.

I think this will be a very close game and as usual my heart is ruling my head in predicting an Arsenal win.

Prediction: 2-1

Manchester United v Newcastle United

7pm GMT, Old Trafford, Manchester

United drew 1-1 away to West Brom last week and they’re still in second place, but they’re 10 points behind City. They have taken 17 points from their last eight home games and they scored 23 goals in those games with no other team scoring more goals at home. They have only won once in their last five games, but no other team has scored more goals.

Bruno Fernandes continues to be the United player to have for fantasy managers with Marcus Rashford worth considering too.

Newcastle lost 2-0 away to Chelsea last week and they’re now only six points above the relegation zone. They have lost six of their last seven away games with only two other teams taking less points and scoring less goals on their travels. They have won two of their last four games after failing to win the previous nine and they need to find a few more wins quickly.

I can’t see any Newcastle players who might make a difference for fantasy managers at the moment.

I can’t see anything other than a comfortable United win in this game.

Prediction: 3-0

Monday February 22

Brighton And Hove Albion v Crystal Palace

8pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton

Brighton drew 0-0 at home to Villa last week, but they’re still only seven points above the bottom three. They’re unbeaten in four home games, but they drew three of them and no other team has drawn more games at home. They’re unbeaten in six games and they kept clean sheets in five of those games, but no other team has drawn more games.

Brighton’s defenders and keeper are looking pretty good for fantasy managers at the moment with Lewis Dunk probably the best of them.

Palace lost 3-0 at home to Burnley last week, but they still have 10 points to spare over the bottom three. They have only won one of their last six away games and they failed to score in four of those games. They have only won three of their last 13 games with only West Brom conceding more goals.

With Wilfried Zaha injured it’s difficult to see any Palace players who might do a job for fantasy managers.

I think Brighton will get a rare home win in this game as Palace tend to struggle when Zaha is out.

Prediction: 1-0

Tuesday February 23

Leeds United v Southampton

6pm GMT, Elland Road, Leeds

Leeds play their second game of the week and they will definitely climb back into the top half of the table if they win them both. They have lost two of their last three home games and they have taken more points away from home than they have at home. There has been more goals in games involving Leeds than any other team so the chances are we’ll see a few goals in this game.

As I said already Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas and Raphinha are all very good options for fantasy managers this week in particular.

Southampton play their second game of the week too and they really need to get something from at least one of them. They have lost their last three away games and they conceded 14 goals in those games with only Leeds conceding more goals on the road. They have only won once in 11 games and they still have 10 points to spare over the bottom three, but they need to halt their slide.

As I said already Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse are good options for fantasy managers most of the time and particularly this week.

This is a tough game to call, but I think Leeds will probably win by a couple of goals.

Prediction: 3-1

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
