Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 12

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do too well last time out with four correct predictions and six incorrect predictions, but I managed to stay in third place in my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

Yet again this week I’m opting for Mohamed Salah as my captain as he’s so far ahead of every other player at the moment and he likes to score goals against Arsenal. It’s difficult to look past Conor Gallagher and Tino Livramento as cut price bargains while Emile Smith-Rowe might not do too well this week, but he still offers a lot of value.

Saturday November 20

Leicester City v Chelsea

12.30pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester

Leicester drew 1-1 away to Leeds in their last game and they’re still in the bottom half of the table on goal difference. They have only won once in their last four home games and they have two very good home fixtures after this game. They have only won two of their last eight games, but no other team in the bottom half of the table has scored more goals.

Youri Tielemans (if he’s fit) and Jamie Vardy have been the Leicester players to have for fantasy managers and their fixtures improve a lot after this game.

Chelsea drew 1-1 at home to Burnley last time out and that point left them three points clear of City and West Ham at the top of the table. They’re one of three teams still unbeaten away from home and no other team has taken more points or conceded less goals on the road. They have taken 13 points and scored 15 goals in their last five games with only Liverpool scoring more goals and no other team conceding less.

Chelsea’s defenders and keeper are the ones to have for fantasy managers, but it’s still not easy to see which of their attacking players to pick.

I think Leicester will make a game of it, but Chelsea will take the three points.

Prediction: 1-2

Aston Villa v Brighton And Hove Albion

3pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham

Villa lost 1-0 away to Southampton in their last game which cost Dean Smith his job and left them only two points above the bottom three. They have lost their last two home games and they conceded seven goals in those two games. They have lost their last five games and they conceded 13 goals in those games with only the bottom two conceding more goals.

With Danny Ings injured it’s not easy to see which Villa players to choose for fantasy managers, but Emiliano Martinez is usually a good bet.

Brighton drew 1-1 at home to Newcastle in their last game and they’re still only three points off fifth place. They’re one of three teams unbeaten away from home with only Chelsea conceding less goals on their travels, but no other team has drawn more away games. They haven’t won in six games, but they drew five of them and only Palace have drawn more games.

Leandro Trossard is the Brighton player for fantasy managers to consider at the moment.

I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the spoils shared.

Prediction: 1-1

Burnley v Crystal Palace

3pm GMT, Turf Moor, Burnley

Burnley drew 1-1 away to table topping Chelsea last time out which left them still in the relegation zone, but only two points from safety. They won their last home game and that was their first home win of the season with only four other teams scoring less goals at home. They have only lost once in their last six games, but they drew four of them and only three other teams have scored less goals.

Maxwel Cornet has looked like he could make a difference for fantasy managers in recent weeks.

Palace won 2-0 at home to Wolves in their last game and that win was enough to move them into the top half of the table. They won their last away game against City and they face three of the bottom six in their next four away games. They are unbeaten in six games, but they drew four of them and no other team has drawn more games.

Conor Gallagher looks like almost a must have for fantasy managers while Wilfried Zaha is doing well too as are the Palace defenders and keeper.

I don’t think we’ll see too many goals in this game, but Palace look capable of taking the three points.

Prediction: 0-1

Newcastle United v Brentford

3pm GMT, St. James’s Park, Newcastle

Newcastle came from behind to draw 1-1 away to Brighton in their last game, but they’re now only off the foot of the table on goal difference. They’re one of two teams without a home win and no other team has conceded more goals at home. They’re the only team without a win with only Norwich conceding more goals, but only Palace have drawn more games.

Callum Wilson is the Newcastle player who can make an impression for fantasy managers when he’s fit to play.

Brentford lost 2-1 at home to Norwich in their last game and they’re now only four points above the bottom three. They lost their last away game and that was their first away defeat with only four other teams conceding less goals on the road. They have lost their last four games and they could do with getting something from this game to stop their slide down the table.

Brentford’s defenders had being doing well for fantasy managers until a few weeks ago, but I’m not so sure about them at the moment.

I don’t think there will be too much between these two teams and the chances are they will take a point each.

Prediction: 2-2

Norwich City v Southampton

3pm GMT, Carrow Road, Norwich

Norwich won 2-1 away to Brentford in their last game, but they’re still at the foot of the table even if it’s only on goal difference. They’re one of two teams without a home win and no other team has taken less points or scored less goals on their own ground. Their win against Brentford was their first win of the season and no other team has scored less or conceded more goals.

Despite their win in their last game I’m still not sure there are any Norwich players to interest fantasy managers.

Southampton won 1-0 at home to Villa last time out and they’re now only one point off the top half of the table. They have only lost one of their last four away games, but only two other teams have scored less goals on their travels. They have taken 10 points from their last four games and they kept clean sheets in three of those games with only three other teams conceding less goals.

Southampton’s defenders and keeper have done very well recently for fantasy managers with Tino Livramento the pick of them as long as he’s fit to play.

I think this will be a close game with Southampton probably winning by the only goal.

Prediction: 0-1

Watford v Manchester United

3pm GMT, Vicarage Road, Watford

Watford lost 1-0 away to Arsenal in their last game and they’re only one place and two points above the bottom three. They have only taken one point from their last four home games with only Norwich scoring less goals at home. They have lost four of their last five games and they failed to score in each of those defeats with only three other teams conceding more goals.

Ismailia Sarr and Emmanuel Dennis have done well at times for fantasy managers, but they’re not consistent and Watford have a tough run of games coming up.

United lost 2-0 at home to City last time out and that defeat saw them drop to sixth place. They have taken 10 points from their five away games and they play the bottom seven teams in seven of their next eight away games. They have lost four of their last six games and they failed to score in three of those games with no other team in the top half of the table conceding more goals.

Despite recent results there are plenty of United players for fantasy managers to consider with Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford all possibilities.

I think United will be too strong for Watford and should win by at least a couple of goals.

Prediction: 1-3

Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United

3pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves lost 2-0 away to Palace in their last game, but they’re still in the top half of the table. They have won their last two home games after losing the previous three, but only Norwich have scored less goals at home and they play three of the top four in their next four home games. They had taken 13 points from their previous five games before losing to Palace, but only three other teams have scored less goals.

Raul Jiminez could be a good choice for fantasy managers with two of the bottom three to play in their next two games after this one.

West Ham won 3-2 at home to Liverpool in their last game and that win saw them move above Liverpool into third place. They’re one of three teams still unbeaten away from home with only Liverpool scoring more and Chelsea conceding less goals on the road. They have won their last four games with only Liverpool and Chelsea scoring more goals and they face the two teams above them in their next four games.

Jarrod Bowen is the in form West Ham player for fantasy managers at the moment with Said Benrahma, Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio good options too.

I think West Ham will continue their impressive form with a narrow victory in this game.

Prediction: 1-2

Liverpool v Arsenal

5.30pm GMT, Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool lost their unbeaten start to the season when they went down 3-2 away to West Ham in their last game and they dropped to fourth place too. They’re one of only two teams unbeaten at home, but they have drawn three of their five home games with only Palace drawing more games on their own patch. They have scored more goals than any other team with only Chelsea and City conceding less and only play two of the big six in their next nine games.

Mohamed Salah is still an absolute must have for fantasy managers with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane (if he’s fit to play) very good choices too.

Arsenal won 1-0 at home to Watford in their last game and they moved up to fifth place with Liverpool only two points ahead of them going into this game. They have taken seven points from their last three away games and they didn’t concede any goals in those games, but only Norwich have scored less goals on the road. They have taken 20 points from their last eight games and they kept five clean sheets in those games, but this will be a huge test for them.

Emile Smith-Rowe is in great form for fantasy managers at the moment while the Arsenal defenders and keeper are doing very well too.

I think Liverpool will be too strong for Arsenal and should win by a couple of goals.

Prediction: 3-1

Sunday November 21

Manchester City v Everton

2pm GMT, Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City won 2-0 away to United last time out and they’re now up to second place with Chelsea three points ahead of them. Only Chelsea and Arsenal have taken more points at home with only Chelsea scoring more goals and no other team conceding less on their own ground. They have only lost once in their last 10 games with only Chelsea conceding less goals.

City’s defenders and keeper are the best options for fantasy managers while Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden are strong possibilities too.

Everton drew 0-0 at home to Spurs in their last game and they’re only outside the top half of the table on goal difference going into this game. They have only taken one point from their last three away games and they will do very well to add to that tally in this game. They have only taken two points from their last five games and with City and Liverpool in their next three games it’s not getting any easier for them.

Everton players haven’t done an awful lot for fantasy managers recently and I can’t see them doing well in this game either.

I think City should be too good for Everton and they will probably win by at least a couple of goals.

Prediction: 2-0

Tottenham Hotspur v Leeds United

4.30pm GMT, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Spurs drew 0-0 away to Everton in their last game and that point was enough to keep them in the top half of the table. They have lost two of their last three home games and they conceded seven goals in those games with only Norwich scoring less goals at home. They have only won two of their last nine games and they haven’t scored in their last three games with only Norwich scoring less goals.

After his international exploits Harry Kane might just be back to form for fantasy managers while Heung-Min Son is always a good choice and the Spurs defenders and keeper could come good under their new manager.

Leeds drew 1-1 at home to Leicester in their last game, but they’re only three points clear of the bottom three. They won their last away game after failing to win the previous four with only two other teams scoring less goals away from home. They have taken eight points from their last five games, but only four other teams have conceded more goals.

Raphinha is the Leeds player to have for fantasy managers at the moment.

I think this will be a very close game, but Spurs should just about take the three points.

Prediction: 1-0

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
