Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 11

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t have a good week last week with only one perfect prediction, two correct outcomes and seven incorrect outcomes which saw me fall one place to third in my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

My captain was Mohamed Salah and he didn’t have his greatest week, but I managed to climb slightly in the overall standings at least. I’m going to stick with Salah as my captain again this week as it just doesn’t make sense to choose anyone else. Yet again Tino Livramento is doing the business as a cut price option while both Conor Gallagher and Emile Smith-Rose offer great value too.

Friday November 5

Southampton v Aston Villa

8pm GMT, St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton

Southampton won 1-0 away to Watford last week and they’re now closer to the top half of the table than they are to the bottom three. Only Palace have drawn more games at home and only Norwich have scored less goals on their own patch. They have taken seven points from their last three games and they have kept four clean sheets in their last seven games, but only Norwich have scored less goals.

Tino Livramento continues to impress for fantasy managers while James Ward-Prowse might be an option too now that his suspension is over.

Villa lost 4-1 at home to West Ham last week and they’re now only three points above the relegation zone. No other team has lost more away games and only Norwich have conceded more goals on their travels. They have lost their last four games and they conceded 12 goals in those games, but only the bottom two clubs have conceded more goals.

Danny Ings is probably the best of the Villa players for fantasy managers, but he might miss this game through injury.

I think Southampton’s good run will continue with a narrow victory in this game.

Prediction: 2-1

Saturday November 6

Manchester United v Manchester City

12.30pm GBT, Old Trafford, Manchester

United won 3-0 away to Spurs last week and they’re still only three points off the top four despite their recent poor run of results. They have only taken one point from their last three home games and they haven’t kept a clean sheet at home so far. They had only taken one point from four games before beating Spurs and they face both City and Chelsea in their next three games.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes both showed against Spurs that they still have a lot to offer for fantasy managers.

City lost 2-0 at home to Palace last week and they’re now five points behind Chelsea at the top of the table. They have taken 10 points from their last four away games with only Chelsea and Liverpool conceding less goals on the road. They had taken 20 points from their previous eight games before losing to Palace, but only the two teams above them have scored more goals and only Chelsea have conceded less.

Gabriel Jesus seems to be a constant in the City team and he’s a good choice for fantasy managers while all of City’s defenders and their keeper are good choices too.

I think City will pile more pressure on United by winning this game by a couple of goals.

Prediction: 0-2

Brentford v Norwich City

3pm GMT, Brentford Community Stadium, London

Brentford lost 3-1 away to Burnley last week, but they’re still a lot closer to the top half of the table than the bottom three. They have only taken one point from their last four home games with only Norwich and Newcastle taking less points on their own ground. They have lost their last three games, but they will see this game as the ideal chance to bounce back.

Ivan Toney could be the Brentford player to have in this game while their defenders and keeper might not do badly either.

Norwich lost 2-1 at home to Leeds last week and it nearly looks like a case of when they will be relegated despite being only 10 games into the season. No other team has taken less points away from home and they’re the only team not to score on the road. They’re one of two teams without a win and no other team has scored less or conceded more goals.

I can’t see any Norwich players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

I think Brentford will get back to winning ways with a couple of goals to spare in this game.

Prediction: 2-0

Chelsea v Burnley

3pm GMT, Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea won 3-0 away to Newcastle last week and they increased their lead at the top of the table as both Liverpool and City dropped points. No other team has taken more points, scored more or conceded less goals on their own ground. They have won their last four games and they scored 14 goals in those games while only conceding one with only Liverpool scoring more goals no other team conceding less.

Chelsea’s defenders and keeper are really good buys for fantasy managers at the moment, but it’s not easy to know which of their attacking players will play or perform well either.

Burnley won 3-1 at home to Brentford last week, but they’re still three points from safety after Leeds won their game too. They’re one of three teams without a win away from home, but they have drawn two of their last three games on the road. Their win against Brentford last week was their first win of the season and only three other teams have scored less goals.

Maxwel Cornet has looked very good recently and he might just be one to watch for fantasy managers.

I think Chelsea will be far too strong for Burnley and should win with ease.

Prediction: 3-0

Crystal Palace v Wolverhampton Wanderers

3pm GMT, Selhurst Park, London

Palace won 2-0 away to City last week to keep themselves five points clear of the relegation zone. They’re one of two teams still unbeaten at home, but they have drawn four of those five games. They’re unbeaten in five games, but they drew four of those games with no other team drawing more games.

Conor Gallagher has been really good for fantasy managers at a very good price while Wilfried Zaha is always worth considering too.

Wolves won 2-1 at home to Everton last week and that win was enough to move them up to seventh place. They have taken 10 points for their last four away games with only the top two conceding less goals on their travels. They have taken 13 points from their last five games and they’re in the middle of a very good run of fixtures.

Raul Jiminez is doing quite well for fantasy managers at the moment while Lee-Chan Hwang isn’t doing too badly either.

I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw.

Prediction: 1-1

Brighton And Hove Albion v Newcastle United

5.30pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton

Brighton came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away to Liverpool last week and they’re still only one point off fifth place. They have only won once in their last four home games with only five other teams scoring less goals at home. They haven’t won in five games, but they drew four of those games and they will hope to get back to winning ways in this game.

Shane Duffy has been a good cut price choice for fantasy managers and he could do well in this game.

Newcastle lost 3-0 at home to Chelsea last week and they’re only two points above Norwich at the foot of the table. They’re one of three teams without a win away from home with only Norwich taking less points on the road and only two other teams scoring less goals. They’re one of two teams without a win and only Norwich have taken less points and conceded more goals.

Despite their poor results I still think Callum Wilson can do well for fantasy managers when he’s fit.

I think Brighton’s impressive start to the season will continue with another win in this game.

Prediction: 2-0

Sunday November 7

Arsenal v Watford

2pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal won 2-0 away to Leicester last week and they’re now only three points off the top four despite their awful start to the season. They have taken 10 points from their last four home games with only Chelsea taking more points at home. They have taken 17 points from their last seven games and they kept four clean sheets in those games.

Emile Smith-Rowe is the best of the Arsenal players for fantasy managers at the moment while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Magalhaes are looking pretty good too.

Watford lost 1-0 at home to Southampton last week and they’re now only three points above the bottom three. They have won two of their last three away games and they scored eight goals in those two victories. They have lost three of their last four games and they have failed to score in six of their 10 games and they play four of the big six in their next five games.

Ismailia Sarr is the Watford player to consider for fantasy managers, but he has been hit and miss so far.

I think Arsenal will continue their impressive run by taking another three points in this game.

Prediction: 3-0

Everton v Tottenham Hotspur

2pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool

Everton lost 2-1 away to Wolves last week and they’re only in the top half of the table on goal difference now. They have lost their last two home games and they play Liverpool and Arsenal in their next two home games after this one. They have lost their last three games and they play five of the big six in their next seven games including this one.

Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray have done very well for fantasy managers so far, but their output has fallen off in the last few games.

Spurs lost 3-0 at home to United last week and it cost their manager his job. They have lost three of their last four away games with only three other teams scoring less goals away from home. They have lost five of their last seven games, but they have a good run of fixtures which could see Conte work his magic very quickly.

Heung-Min Son is the best of the Spurs players for fantasy managers while Harry Kane might just improve with Conte now in charge.

I don’t think there will be too much between these two teams and a draw is the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 1-1

Leeds United v Leicester City

2pm GMT, Elland Road, Leeds

Leeds won 2-1 away to Norwich last week and they would have been in the bottom three if they didn’t win that game. They have taken four points from their last two home games after only taking one point from their first three, but only five other teams have scored less goals at home. They have taken seven points from their last four games, but they’re not scoring as freely as they were last season.

Raphinha is the Leeds player to have for fantasy managers at the moment.

Leicester lost 2-0 at home to Arsenal last week, but they’re only outside the top four on goal difference going into this game. They have taken seven points from their last four away games and they have scored in all of their away games, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road either. The defeat last week was their first loss in five games, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet since their opening game.

Jamie Vardy is the best of the Leicester players for fantasy managers while Patson Daka could do well given a chance.

I think Leicester might just manage to edge a very close game.

Prediction: 1-2

West Ham United v Liverpool

4.30pm GMT, London Stadium, London

West Ham won 4-1 away to Villa last week and they’re only behind third placed City on goal difference. They won their last home game after losing the previous two, but they will struggle to get anything from this game. They have won their last three games and they kept clean sheets in two of them, but they face the only three teams above them in their next five games.

Jarrod Bowen is probably the in form West Ham player at the moment while Said Benrahma and Michail Antonio are pretty good options too.

Liverpool led 2-0 at home to Brighton last week, but they were pegged back and they had to settle for a 2-2 draw. No other team has taken more points or scored more goals away from home and only Chelsea have conceded less goals. They’re the only team still unbeaten with no other team scoring more goals and only Chelsea and City conceding less.

Mohamed Salah is still the best player for fantasy managers by a long shot while Liverpool’s keeper and defenders are good options too along with Sadio Mane.

I think Liverpool will be too strong for West Ham and should win by at least a couple of goals.

Prediction: 1-3

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
