My choice of Wilfried Zaha for my fantasy captain wasn’t the worst choice, but I had suggested James Maddison would be a good option too and I wish I had chosen him. It’s not easy to decide on a captain this week, but Maddison could be a good option again along with Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane, Kevin de Bruyne, Mohamed Salah (if he’s fit to play) and maybe even Zaha again. It’s never easy to predict what will happen on the last day of the season, but there are bound to be some outstanding performances which can make a difference for fantasy managers if they can predict them.
Sunday May 22
All games kick off at 4pm BST,
Arsenal v Everton
Emirates Stadium, London
Arsenal lost 2-0 away to Newcastle last week and their hopes of finishing in the top four are as good as gone. They have won their last two home games and only three other teams have won more games at home while only the top two have conceded less goals on their own patch. They have lost six of their last 11 games and even a win in this game won’t be good enough to get them fourth place unless Norwich beat Spurs.
With Arsenal needing to win this game Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah could be the players to have for fantasy managers.
Everton lost 3-2 at home to Brentford and then won 3-2 at home to Palace last week and those three points were enough to ensure their Premier League survival. They have taken four points from their last two away games, but no other team has taken less points on their travels. With their survival assured it’s hard to know how Everton will perform in this game and only four other teams have conceded more goals.
I’m not sure there are Everton players to interest fantasy managers as they don’t have anything to play for in this game, but Richarlison has been in good form recently.
I think Arsenal will get the win they need, but it won’t be enough to secure a top four finish.
Prediction: 3-1
Brentford v Leeds United
Brentford Community Stadium, London
Brentford won 3-2 away to Everton last week and they’re still in with a chance of finishing in the top half of the table. They have taken 10 points from their last four home games and they kept clean sheets in each of those games. They have taken 22 points from their last 10 games to comfortably stay up, but they might find it harder to do so next season.
Ivan Toney is the Brentford player most likely to score some points for fantasy managers in this game.
Leeds drew 1-1 at home to Brighton last week, but that point wasn’t enough to take them out of the relegation zone. They have taken seven points from their last four away games, but only Norwich have conceded more goals on the road. They have only taken two points from their last five games and they failed to score in three of those games. They will be relegated if they lose this game and even a win might not be enough.
With Leeds needing to get something from this game Raphinha is their player most likely to make a difference for fantasy managers.
I think this will be a close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw which might not be enough for Leeds.
Prediction: 2-2
Brighton And Hove Albion v West Ham United
AMEX Stadium, Brighton
Brighton drew 1-1 away to Leeds last week and they will finish in the top half of the table as long as they don’t lose this game. They won their last home game 4-0 against United, but only the bottom three have taken less points on their own ground. They have only lost one of their last eight games, but it’s their home form which has stopped them from challenging for a European spot this season.
Leandro Trossard is the Brighton player most likely to be of interest to fantasy managers in this game.
West Ham drew 2-2 at home to City last week and they have to win this game to have any chance of finishing in sixth place. They won their last away game 4-0 after only taking one point in the previous six. They have taken four points in two games since losing the Europa League semi final and they will be encouraged by Brighton’s home results this season.
If West Ham are going to get the win they need Jarrod Bowen could have a good day for fantasy managers.
I think this will be a close game with West Ham probably taking the three points as they need them more than Brighton do.
Prediction: 1-2
Burnley v Newcastle United
Turf Moor, Burnley
Burnley lost 1-0 away to Spurs and then drew 1-1 away to Villa last week and that point was just enough to keep them out of the relegation zone on goal difference. They had won three home games in a row before losing their last one against Villa, but only Norwich have scored less goals at home. They have only taken one point from their last three games with only Norwich scoring less goals and they will avoid relegation if they win this game.
I’m not sure there are any Burnley players to recommend to fantasy managers despite their need to get something from this game.
Newcastle won 2-0 at home to Arsenal last week and they can still finish in the top half of the table if they win this game and other results go their way. They have lost four of their last five away games and they conceded 12 goals in those five games. They have won five of their last seven games, but only four other teams have conceded more goals.
Bruno Guimaraes is the Newcastle player to have for fantasy managers and Callum Wilson could be worth a shout too.
I think Newcastle will get the win they want and they might just finish in the top half of the table.
Prediction: 1-2
Chelsea v Watford
Stamford Bridge, London
Chelsea drew 1-1 at home to Leicester last week and they’re as good as guaranteed to finish in third place. They have won once in their last five home games and it was their home results which stopped their title challenge. They have only won two of their last seven games, but they will finish in third place.
As long as Mason Mount plays he could do very well for fantasy managers in this game along with Romelu Lukaku and all of the Chelsea defenders and keeper.
Watford lost 5-1 at home to Leicester last week and they could still finish at the foot of the table if Norwich win their game and Watford don’t. They have lost four of their last five away games and they took almost twice as many points away from home as they did at home this season. They have only taken one point in their last eight games with only Leeds and Norwich conceding more goals.
I can’t see any Watford players to interest fantasy managers in this game.
I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Chelsea victory in this game.
Prediction: 3-0
Crystal Palace v Manchester United
Selhurst Park, London
Palace drew 1-1 away to Villa and lost 3-2 away to Everton last week and they can still finish in the top half of the table if they win this game and plenty of other results go their way. They’re unbeaten in their last five home games and they kept clean sheets in four of those games with only three other teams conceding less goals on their own patch. They have only won twice in their last seven games and they should relish the chance to play an out of form United.
Wilfried Zaha could be the Palace player to have for fantasy managers in this game if Palace can take advantage of United’s recent form.
United didn’t play last week and they will definitely finish sixth if they win this game. They have lost their last five away games and they conceded 16 goals in those games. They have only won three of their last 11 games with only seven other teams conceding more goals.
Despite their recent poor form Cristiano Ronaldo could still do well for fantasy managers in this game.
I think Palace will take advantage of United’s poor form to take the three points in this game.
Prediction: 3-1
Leicester City v Southampton
King Power Stadium, Leicester
Leicester won 5-1 away to Watford and drew 1-1 away to Chelsea last week and those four points have more or less guaranteed they finish in the top half of the table. They have won four of their last six home games and they will see this as a game they can win and win well. They have taken seven points and scored nine goals in their last three games, but no other team in the top half of the table has conceded more goals.
James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes are all in great form for fantasy managers at the moment.
Southampton lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool last week and it seems the end of the season can’t come quickly enough for them. They haven’t won in their last six away games with only three other teams taking less points on their travels. They have only taken five points from their last 11 games and only the bottom three have conceded more goals.
I can’t see any Southampton players to recommend to fantasy managers in this game.
I think Leicester will win this game by at least a couple of goals and it might be enough for them to finish in eighth place.
Prediction: 3-1
Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Anfield, Liverpool
Liverpool won 2-1 away to Southampton last week and that win was enough to just about keep their title chances alive. They drew their last home game after winning the previous 12 with no other taking more points or conceding less goals at home. They have taken 47 of the last 51 points available to them and it looks like those two draws against City are Spurs will have cost them the title.
If he’s fit to play Mohamed Salah is very difficult to ignore for fantasy managers while Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and all of the Liverpool defenders and keeper are very good choices too.
Wolves drew 1-1 at home to Norwich last week and they could drop to tenth place if they lose this game and other results go against them. They have only taken one point from their last three away games, but they have taken more points away from home than at home this season. They have only taken two points from their last six games and no other team in the top half of the table has scored less goals.
I can’t see any Wolves players to recommend to fantasy managers in this game.
I think Liverpool will get the win they need, but they will have to settle for second place behind City.
Prediction: 2-0
Manchester City v Aston Villa
Etihad Stadium, Manchester
City drew 2-2 away to West Ham last week and they will win the title if they win this game. They have won their last three home games and they scored 13 goals in those three games with no other team scoring more goals on their own ground. They had won five games in a row before drawing with West Ham while they have scored 24 goals in their last six games and they need four goals in this game to reach 100 league goals for the season.
With so much riding on this game I think Kevin de Bruyne could be the City player to have for fantasy managers with all of their defenders and keeper very good options too.
Villa drew 1-1 at home to both Palace and Burnley last week and they are yet another team who can finish in the top half of the table if they win this game and other results go their way. They have taken 10 points from their last six away games, but only three other teams have lost more games away from home. They have only won two of their last 10 games with only three other teams losing more games.
I can’t see any Villa players of interest for fantasy managers in this game.
I think City should win this game with relative ease to win the league for a second season in a row.
Prediction: 3-0
Norwich City v Tottenham Hotspur
Carrow Road, Norwich
Norwich drew 1-1 away to Wolves last week and they can still avoid finishing at the bottom of the table if they can win this game. They have lost five of their last six home games with only Watford taking less points and conceding more goals at home. The point against Wolves was their first point in six games and no other team has scored less or conceded more goals this season.
I can’t see any Norwich players to recommend to fantasy managers in this game.
Spurs won 1-0 at home to Burnley last week and they will finish in the top four as long as they don’t lose this game. They are unbeaten in four away games and they drew the last two while one point would be enough for them in this game. They have taken 11 points from their last five games with clean sheets in three of them and they should win this game at a canter.
With Spurs needing something from this game to finish in the top four I think Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane could do very well for fantasy managers.
I can’t see anything other than a comprehensive Spurs victory in this game.
Prediction: 0-4
That’s it for this season.
See you next season.
Tottenham prediction is fake
ReplyDeleteThat will be very impossible,I suggest Norwich will take all the 3 point
