Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 10

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do too badly last week with one perfect prediction, four correct outcomes and five incorrect outcomes which saw me climb one place to second in my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

As I said last week I think I’m just going to stick with Mohamed Salah as my fantasy captain for every week because he is so far ahead of everyone else at the moment. I suggested Tino Livramento as a good cut price option for fantasy managers last week and he didn’t let me down while Lee-Chan Hwang looks like he offers a lot of value too.

Saturday October 30

Leicester City v Arsenal

12.30pm BST, King Power Stadium, Leicester

Leicester won 2-1 away to Brentford last week and they’re ahead of Arsenal on goal difference going into this game. They have taken four points from their last two home games and they scored six goals in those games. They have taken eight points from their last four games and they scored 10 goals in those games, but they conceded seven and no other team in the top half of the table has conceded more goals.

Jamie Vardy is still the Leicester player most likely to succeed for fantasy managers, but Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho are pushing him hard and Youri Tielemans is doing very well too.

Arsenal won 3-1 at home to Villa last week to move into the top half of the table. They have taken four points and conceded no goals in their last two away games, but only Norwich have scored less goals on the road. They have taken 14 points from their last six games and they kept clean sheets in three of those games.

With four goals in his last six games Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should be considered by fantasy managers while Emile Smith-Rowe is a possibility too.

I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the spoils shared.

Prediction: 1-1

Burnley v Brentford

3pm BST, Turf Moor, Burnley

Burnley drew 2-2 away to Southampton last week, but they’re still in the bottom three and three points from safety. Only Norwich have taken less points at home and no other team has scored less goals on their own ground. They’re one of three teams without a win with only Norwich scoring less goals and only four other teams conceding more.

Maxwel Cornet has looked good in recent weeks for fantasy managers and he’s probably the only Burnley player to consider at the moment.

Brentford lost 2-1 at home to Leicester last week and that defeat saw them drop into the bottom half of the table. They’re still unbeaten away from home with eight points from four games and only Chelsea have conceded less goals on their travels. They have lost their last two games, but they play the bottom three in their next three games and they will be looking to win all three games.

Brentford’s defenders and keeper have all done very well for fantasy managers while Ivan Toney hasn’t done too badly either.

This is a game which could go either way, but I think Brentford might just win narrowly.

Prediction: 1-2

Liverpool v Brighton And Hove Albion

3pm BST, Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool strolled to a 5-0 win away to United last week, but they’re still one point behind Chelsea at the top of the table. They have taken eight points from their four home games so far and only two other teams have conceded less goals at home. They’re the only team still unbeaten with no other team scoring more goals and they scored 10 goals without reply in their last two games.

Mohamed Salah is an absolute must have for fantasy managers while Liverpool’s keeper and defenders are great choices too along with Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

Brighton lost 4-1 at home to City last week, but they’re still only two points off the top four. They’re still unbeaten away from home with only Chelsea conceding less goals on the road, but only three other teams scoring less. They haven’t won in four games, but they drew three of those games and they only scored two goals in them.

Lewis Dunk and Roberto Martinez are the Brighton players most likely to perform for fantasy managers with Neal Maupay a possibility too.

I can’t see anything other than a Liverpool victory in this game by at least two goals.

Prediction: 2-0

Manchester City v Crystal Palace

3pm BST, Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City won 4-1 away to Brighton last week, but they’re still two points off the top of the table. Only Chelsea have taken more points and scored more goals at home and they’re the only team who haven’t conceded a goal on their own patch. They have taken 20 points from their last eight games and they kept six clean sheets in those games with only Chelsea conceding less goals.

City’s defenders and keeper are the most likely to avoid rotation which makes them a good bet for fantasy managers while Gabriel Jesus is worth considering too.

Palace drew 1-1 at home to Newcastle last week to make it four draws in a row. They haven’t won away from home yet and only three other teams have conceded more goals on the road. They have drawn their last four games and no other has drawn more games so far.

Conor Gallagher and Wilfried Zaha are probably the Palace players most likely to do well for fantasy managers, but maybe not in this game.

I think City will be too strong for Palace and should win by a couple of goals.

Prediction: 3-1

Newcastle United v Chelsea

3pm BST, St. James’s Park, Newcastle

Newcastle drew 1-1 away to Palace last week and they’re only two points above Norwich at the foot of the table. Only Norwich have taken less points at home and no other team has conceded more goals goals at home. They’re one of three teams without a win with only Norwich conceding more goals.

Callum Wilson looks like a good buy for fantasy managers now that he’s back from his latest injury.

Chelsea cruised to a 7-0 win at home to Norwich last week to stay one point clear at the top of the table. Only Liverpool have taken more points away from home and no other team has conceded less goals on their travels. They have won five of their last six games with no other team conceding less goals and only Liverpool scoring more.

Chelsea’s defenders and keeper are all looking very good for fantasy managers at the moment while it’s difficult to ignore Mason Mount after his performance last week.

I think Chelsea should win this game with a few goals to spare.

Prediction: 0-3

Watford v Southampton

3pm BST, Vicarage Road, Watford

Watford had a fantastic 5-2 comeback win away to Everton last week and that win moved them six points clear of the relegation zone. They have only taken one point from their last three home games and no other team has conceded more goals at home. They had only won once in seven games before beating Everton last week and only the bottom two have conceded more goals.

Ismailia Sarr is the best of the Watford players for fantasy managers while Emmanuel Dennis wouldn’t be a bad cut price option too if he wasn’t suspended this week.

Southampton drew 2-2 at home to Burnley last week to stay four points clear of the relegation zone. They haven’t won away from home yet with only three other teams scoring less goals on their travels. Only Palace have drawn more games and only two other teams have scored less goals.

Tino Livramento is the Southampton player who can make a difference for fantasy managers and he’s still available at a very good price.

I think this will be a very close game with a draw the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 1-1

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United

5.30pm BST, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Spurs lost 1-0 away to West Ham last week, but they’re still only two points off the top four. They have won three of their four home games, but only three other teams have scored less goals at home. They have lost four of their last six games and they failed to score in three of those defeats with no other team in the top half of the table scoring less goals.

Heung-Min Son is the Spurs player most likely to do well for fantasy managers at the moment while Harry Kane is still struggling to find form.

United lost 5-0 at home to Liverpool last week and they’re a point behind Spurs going into this game. They lost their last away game at Leicester and that was their first away defeat in almost 30 games. They have only taken one point from their last four games and they conceded nine goals in their last two games with only the top three scoring more goals and only four other teams conceding more.

Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo are all very good options for fantasy managers.

I think United will put their woes behind them and just about take the three points in this game.

Prediction: 1-2

Sunday October 31

Norwich City v Leeds United

2pm GMT, Carrow Road, Norwich

Norwich lost 7-0 away to Chelsea last week and they’re already five points from the safety of seventeenth place. They have only taken one point at home and no other team has taken less points or scored less goals at home. They’re one of three teams without a win and no other team has scored less or conceded more goals.

I can’t see any Norwich players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

Leeds got a last minute goal to draw 1-1 at home to Wolves last week, but they’re still only one place and three points above the relegation zone. They haven’t won away from home yet and only two other teams have scored less goals on the road. They have only won once so far and they have only scored four goals in their last six games with only three other conceding more goals.

If he’s fit to play Raphinha is the Leeds player to have for fantasy managers while they wait for Patrick Bamford to return from injury.

I think Leeds will continue to pile the pressure on Norwich by taking the three points in this game.

Prediction: 0-2

Aston Villa v West Ham United

4.30pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham

Villa lost 3-1 away to Arsenal last week and they need to get something from this game to stop their slide down the table. They lost their last home game after being two up with 10 minutes to go and West Ham will make things tough for them in this game. They have lost their last three games and they conceded eight goals in the process with only four other teams conceding more goals.

Emiliano Martinez is proving yet again to be the best of the Villa players for fantasy managers while Danny Ings should be considered too.

West Ham won 1-0 at home to Spurs last week and that win was enough to move them into the top four. They’re still unbeaten away from home with only Liverpool taking more points on the road and only three other teams conceding less goals on their travels. They have won three of their last four games and they kept clean sheets in their last two games with only the top three scoring more goals.

Michail Antonio is proving to be a very good choice for fantasy managers with Aaron Cresswell and Said Benrahma pretty good options too.

The chances are this will be a very close game with a draw the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 1-1

Monday November 1

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton

8pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves drew 1-1 away to Leeds last week which meant they dropped into the bottom half of the table due to teams below them winning. They won their last home game after losing the previous three and no other team has scored less goals at home. They have taken 10 points from their last four games and they’re in the middle of a run of games which could see them continue to climb the table.

Lee-Chan Hwang is looking pretty good for fantasy managers at the moment and Raul Jiminez isn’t doing too badly either.

Everton lost 5-2 at home to Watford last week after leading 2-1 with just over 10 minutes to go and they’re only one point ahead of Wolves going into this game. They have only won one away game so far and their next away game is against City. They have only taken one point from their last three games and their upcoming fixtures suggest their slide down the table could continue.

Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray are both doing very well for fantasy managers and Richarlison should be considered too now that he’s back from injury.

It’s hard to know which way this game will go, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw.

Prediction: 1-1

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
