Crystal Palace v Newcastle United
8pm GMT, Selhurst Park, London
Palace lost 1-0 away to Burnley last week and that defeat dropped them into the bottom half of the table on goal difference. Their home results seem to have improved this season with only one defeat in four games and only West Ham have conceded less goals at home. They had won two of their previous three games before the defeat at Burnley, but Wilfried Zaha’s absence was a big blow for them in that game.
If Zaha is still out I can’t really see any other Palace players to recommend to fantasy managers.
Newcastle lost 2-0 at home to Chelsea last week to drop to 15th place, but they’re still a healthy seven points above the bottom three. They haven’t won in their last three away games, but only two other teams have conceded less goals on their travels and only four other teams have scored less. They have lost their last two games without scoring, but they have a good run of games coming up.
If Callum Wilson isn’t passed fit to play I can’t see any other Newcastle players to interest fantasy managers.
I think there won’t be too much in this game, but Palace will probably take the three points.
Prediction: 1-0
Saturday November 28
Brighton And Hove Albion v Liverpool
12.30pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton
Brighton won 2-1 away to Villa last week and that win was enough to move them five points clear of the relegation zone. They’re one of three teams without a home win so far and only Sheffield United have taken less points at home. The win at Villa was their first one in eight games and only five other teams have conceded more goals.
I’m not sure there are any Brighton players performing consistently enough to recommend to fantasy managers.
Liverpool won 3-0 at home to Leicester last week and that win moved them up to second place with Spurs only ahead of them on goal difference. They have only won once in their four away games with only West Brom conceding more goals on their travels. They have taken 11 points from five games since their trashing by Villa and only Chelsea have scored more goals.
Mohamed Salah should be back for Liverpool and he’s the best bet in their team for fantasy managers with Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Andy Robertson performing well too.
I can’t see anything other than a Liverpool win in this game despite how well Brighton have played at times this season.
Prediction: 1-3
Manchester City v Burnley
3pm GMT, Etihad Stadium, Manchester
City lost 2-0 away to Spurs last week and they’re still in the bottom half of the table with the leaders 12 points clear of them. They have only won once at home so far with only four other teams scoring less goals at home, but they have played the least home games in the league to this point. They have only won twice in their last seven games and they have only scored five goals in their last six games.
City players haven’t really done much for fantasy managers so far, but surely Kevin dr Bruyne and Raheem Sterling will come good soon and Sergio Aguero is back from injury.
Burnley won 1-0 at home to Palace last week and that win was enough to move them out of the relegation zone. They are one of only four teams without an away win and no other team has scored less goals on their travels. Their win last week was their first win of the season and no other team has scored less goals.
I can’t see any Burnley players to recommend to fantasy managers in this game, but Nick Pope is starting to look good yet again.
I think City will get a much needed win in this game and with at least a couple of goals to spare.
Prediction: 2-0
Everton v Leeds United
5.30pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool
Everton got back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory away to Fulham last week and it was enough to move them up to sixth place. They lost their last home game against United, but only Liverpool have scored more goals at home and only four other teams have conceded more. The win against Fulham ended a run of three consecutive defeats and only the top three have scored more goals while only three other teams have conceded more.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to impress for fantasy managers with Richarlison, James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne worth considering too.
Leeds drew 0-0 at home to Arsenal last week, but they’re still a good seven points above the bottom three. They have won two of their last three away games and they kept clean sheets in both of those victories too. They haven’t won in three games and only two other teams have conceded more goals, but they’re the top scorers in the bottom half of the table.
Patrick Bamford is still the best of the Leeds players for fantasy managers with Mateusz Klich a possibility too.
I think Leeds will give Everton a tough game, but the return of Richarlison should be enough to give Everton a win.
Prediction: 2-1
West Bromwich Albion v Sheffield United
8pm GMT, The Hawthorns, Birmingham
West Brom lost 1-0 away to United last week and the only team below them in the league are their opponents in this game. They’re one of three teams without a home win and they have failed to score in three of their four home games with only Sheffield United and Burnley scoring less goals at home. They are one of two teams without a win and no other team has conceded more goals with only two other teams scoring less.
I can’t see any West Brom players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
United lost 1-0 at home to West Ham last week to leave themselves firmly rooted to the foot of the table. They’re the only team without a point away from home and no other team has scored less goals away from home. They have only taken one point from their nine games and they failed to score in five of those games with no other team scoring less goals.
I can’t see any United players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment either.
This is a big game for the bottom two clubs and I think West Brom might just be good enough to take the three points.
Prediction: 1-0
Sunday November 29
Southampton v Manchester United
2pm GMT, ST. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton
Southampton drew 1-1 away to Wolves last week and they’re only one point outside the top four. They have won their last three home games without conceding a goal with only Liverpool taking more points at home. They have taken 17 points from their last seven games and they kept clean sheets in four of those games.
With Danny Ings injured it looks like Che Adams could be the Southampton player to have for fantasy managers while their keeper and defenders have done well too and Theo Walcott could be an outside bet.
United won 1-0 at home to West Brom last week and that was enough to move them into the top half of the table for the first time this season. They are one of only three teams who have won all of their away games so far with only three other teams scoring more goals on their travels. The win against West Brom made it two wins in a row for the first time this season, but they have still conceded more goals than they have scored.
Bruno Fernandes is almost a must have for fantasy managers at the moment while Marcus Rashford should be considered too if he’s fit to play.
I think United’s away form suggests they will narrowly win this game.
Prediction: 1-2
Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur
4.30pm GMT, Stamford Bridge, London
Chelsea won 2-0 away to Newcastle last week and that win was enough to move them up to third in the table. They have taken seven points from their last three home games and they scored eight goals in those games while only conceding one. They have taken 15 points in their last seven games and they kept four clean sheets in those games with no other team scoring more goals.
All of Chelsea’s defenders and keeper are doing very well for fantasy managers at the moment while Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Timo Werner and possibly Tammy Abraham are worth considering too.
Spurs won 2-0 at home to City last week to move to the top of the table. They are one of three teams who have won all of their away games with no other team scoring more goals on their travels and only Villa conceding less. They have taken 20 points from their last eight games after losing their opening game and they have kept three clean sheets in their last four games with only Chelsea scoring more goals and no other team conceding less.
Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have made themselves almost must haves for fantasy managers and Spurs’ defenders and keeper have improved in recent weeks too.
I think this will be a very close game and the chances are the spoils will be shared.
Prediction: 1-1
Arsenal v Wolverhampton Wanderers
7.15pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London
Arsenal drew 0-0 away to Leeds last week and they’re still in the bottom half of the table on goal difference. They have lost their last two home games without scoring and only four other teams have scored less goals at home. They have only won once in their last five games and they only scored one goal in those games with only four other teams scoring less goals.
Hector Bellerin is the Arsenal player doing the most for fantasy managers at the moment.
Wolves drew 1-1 at home to Southampton last week and they’re one point ahead of Arsenal going into this game. They have won two and lost two of their four away games, but no other team has scored less goals on the road. They have only won once in their last four games, but they have kept four clean sheets in their nine games even if only four other teams have scored less goals.
None of the Wolves players are setting the world alight for fantasy managers, but Raul Jiminez, Rui Patricio, Pedro Neto and Max Kilman are all doing quite well.
I think this will be another very close game with Arsenal just about managing to take the three points.
Prediction: 2-1
Monday November 30
Leicester City v Fulham
5.30pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester
Leicester lost 3-0 away to Liverpool last week and they dropped from the top of the table to fourth place as a result. They have lost two of their last three home games and they only scored one goal in those games, but they should be able to put that right in this game. They had won three in a row before losing to Liverpool and they kept clean sheets in two of those games.
Jamie Vardy is the Leicester player of choice for fantasy managers and their defenders and keeper haven’t done too badly either.
Fulham lost 3-2 at home to Everton last week and that defeat meant they dropped back into the bottom three. Only Sheffield United have taken less points away from home and only four other teams have scored less goals on their travels. They have lost three of their last four games and no other team has conceded more goals.
I can’t see any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
I can’t see anything other than a comprehensive Leicester win in this game.
Prediction: 3-0
West Ham United v Aston Villa
8pm GMT, London Stadium, London
West Ham won 1-0 away to Sheffield United last week and they moved into the top half of the table. They have taken seven points from their last three home games and they kept clean sheets in two of those games with no other team conceding less goals at home. They have taken 14 points from their last seven games and they kept clean sheets in four of those games with only Spurs conceding less goals.
Pablo Fornals is doing very well for fantasy managers at the moment and West Ham’s keeper and defenders are well worth having too.
Villa lost 2-1 at home to Brighton last week and they have dropped down to seventh in the table. They’re one of three teams who have won all of their away games and they’re the only team who still haven’t conceded a goal on their travels. They have lost three of their last four games and they conceded nine goals in those games, but only the top three have scored more goals.
Jack Grealish has done very well for fantasy managers while Villa’s keeper and defenders have done well too along with John McGinn and Ollie Watkins.
I think this is a very tough game to call, but West Ham might just be good enough to take the three points.
Prediction: 2-1
That’s it for this week.
See you next week.
