Newcastle United v Chelsea
12.30pm GMT, St. James’s Park, Newcastle
Newcastle lost their last game 2-0 away to Southampton, but they’re still comfortably in mid-table with eight points to spare over the bottom three. They have won two of their last three home games, but only United have conceded more goals at home. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last seven games, but they have a good run of games after this one.
Callum Wilson is the only Newcastle player to interest fantasy managers as long as he’s passed fit to play.
Chelsea won 4-1 at home to Sheffield United in their last game and they’re only three points off the top of the table. They are unbeaten away from home so far and they kept clean sheets in their last two away games. They’re unbeaten in six games and they kept clean sheets in three of their last five with no other team scoring more goals.
Hakim Ziyech looks like a very good choice for fantasy managers at the moment along with Kurt Zouma and Ben Chilwell as Chelsea’s defenders and keeper all appear to be good choices.
I think this will be a close game with Chelsea probably taking the three points.
Prediction: 1-2
Aston Villa v Brighton And Hove Albion
3pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham
Villa won 3-0 away to Arsenal in their last game to move within three points of the league leaders. Their only two defeats so far have come at home, but only Everton have scored more goals on their own patch. They had lost two games in a row before beating Arsenal with only two other teams scoring more goals and no other team conceding less.
There are plenty of Villa players for fantasy managers to choose from with Jack Grealish the pick of them while Tyrone Mings, Emiliano Martinez, John McGinn, Ollie Watkins and Ross Barkley have all done well too.
Brighton drew 0-0 at home to Burnley in their last game to keep themselves three points above the relegation zone. They haven’t won in their last three away games, but they have scored in each of their four games on their travels. They haven’t won in six games and their last game was the first one in which they failed to score.
I’m not sure there are any Brighton players who are consistent enough to interest fantasy managers.
I don’t think this game is as easy to call as it looks, but Villa will more than likely win.
Prediction: 2-1
Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City
5.30pm GMT, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Spurs won 1-0 away to West Brom in their last game to move up to second in the table. They won their last home game against Brighton, but that is their only home win so far. They have won their last three games and they kept clean sheets in two of them with only Everton scoring more goals and no other team conceding less.
Harry Kane is in great form for fantasy managers at the moment with Heung-min Son a very good option too.
City drew 1-1 at home to Liverpool in their last game and they’re just in the top half of the table on goal difference. They have only won once in their three home games with only five other teams scoring less goals at home. They are unbeaten in five games, but they drew three of them and they only scored one goal in each of those games.
With Kevin de Bruyne back from injury he’s the best choice in the City team while Raheem Sterling (if he’s fit) worth considering too.
I have a feeling City might have just enough to take the three points in this game.
Prediction: 1-2
Manchester United v West Bromwich Albion
8pm GMT, Old Trafford Manchester
United won 3-1 away to Everton in their last game, but they’re still in the bottom half of the table. Only Burnley have taken less points at home and no other team has conceded more goals on their own patch. They badly need a home win and this game should give them the opportunity to get it.
Bruno Fernandes is the United player most likely to make an impression for fantasy managers while Marcus Rashford (if he’s fit) isn’t a bad option either.
West Brom lost 1-0 at home to Spurs in their last game and they’re still without a win after eight games. Only Sheffield United have taken less points away from home and no other team has scored less or conceded more goals on the road. Only the two teams below them have scored less goals and no other team has conceded more.
I can’t see any West Brom players who might make a difference for fantasy managers at the moment.
I think United will get their first home win of the season in this game with a few goals to spare.
Prediction: 3-0
Sunday November 22
Fulham v Everton
12pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London
Fulham lost 1-0 away to West Ham in their last game, but they’re still one point above the bottom three. They won their last home game after losing the previous three and they have failed to score in two of their four home games. Only Sheffield United have lost more games and only three other teams have conceded more goals ahead of a very tough run of games.
I can’t see any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
Everton lost 3-1 at home to United last time out as their early season form seems to have faded. They have lost their last two away games after winning the previous two, but they play two of the bottom four in their next two away games. They have lost their last three games and they conceded seven goals in those games.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still the player of choice in the Everton team for fantasy managers while James Rodriguez and Richarlison are worth considering too.
I think Everton will get back to winning ways with a couple of goals to spare in this game.
Prediction: 1-3
Sheffield United v West Ham United
2pm GMT, Bramall Lane, Sheffield
United lost 4-1 away to Chelsea in their last game and that was enough to drop them to the foot of the table. Their only point so far came at home and only Burnley have taken less points at home. They did very well defensively last season, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet yet and they failed to score in four of their eight games.
I can’t see any United players to interest fantasy managers at the moment.
West Ham won 1-0 at home to Fulham in their last game and they’re only a point off the top half of the table. They have only won once in their four away games, but this game gives them a great chance to make it two wins. They have taken 11 points from their last six games and they only play two of the big six in their next 12 games.
Pablo Fornals is doing quite well for fantasy managers at the moment while Lukasz Fabianski and Aaron Cresswell aren’t doing too badly either.
I think West Ham can continue their impressive form by taking the three points in this game.
Prediction: 0-2
Leeds United v Arsenal
4.30pm GMT, Elland Road, Leeds
Leeds lost 4-1 away to Palace in their last game, but they’re only two points behind Arsenal going into this game. They have only taken one point in their last three home games and they conceded six goals in those games. They lost their last two games and they conceded eight goals in those games with no other team conceding more goals.
Patrick Bamford is the Leeds player to have for fantasy managers with Mateusz Klich and Helder Costa good options too.
Arsenal lost 3-0 at home to Villa in their last game to drop into the bottom half of the table. They have won two of their four away games with only four other teams conceding less goals on the road. They have lost three of their last four games and they only scored one goal in those games with only five other teams scoring less goals.
Hector Bellerin is probably the Arsenal player most likely to do well for fantasy managers at the moment while I’m still convinced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will come good too.
I think this will be another very close game with Arsenal emerging narrowly with the three points.
Prediction: 1-2
Liverpool v Leicester City
7.15pm GMT, Anfield, Liverpool
Liverpool drew 1-1 away to City in their last game to drop to third place in the table. They are the only team with a 100% record at home with only Everton scoring more goals on their own patch. They have only kept one clean sheet so far with only Leeds and West Brom conceding more goals, but only Chelsea and Spurs have scored more.
If Mohamed Salah is out then Sadio Mane is the Liverpool player to have for fantasy managers with Diogo Jota possibly worth a shout too.
Leicester won 1-0 at home to Wolves in their last game to move to the top of the table. They’re one of four teams with a 100% record away from home with no other team scoring more goals on the road and only Villa conceding less. They have won their last three games and they only conceded one goal in those games with no other team conceding less goals and only Chelsea and Spurs scoring more.
Jamie Vardy is the best of the Leicester players for fantasy managers with all of their defenders and keeper doing quite well too.
I think this will be yet another very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end all square.
Prediction: 1-1
Monday November 23
Burnley v Crystal Palace
5.30pm GMT, Turf Moor, Burnley
Burnley drew 0-0 away to Brighton last time out and that point was enough to move them off the foot of the table. They’re the only team without a point or a goal at home and they need to end that run very quickly. They have failed to score in their last four games and no other team has scored less goals.
I can’t see any Palace players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
Palace won 4-1 at home to Wolves in their last game to move into the top half of the table. They have lost two of their last three away games and they conceded seven goals in those games with only three other teams conceding more goals away from home. They have taken seven points from their last four games and they play two of the bottom three teams in their next three games.
Wilfried Zaha has started the season very well for fantasy managers and he’s looking like a good choice.
I think Palace will continue to pile the pressure on Burnley by taking the three points in this game.
Prediction: 1-2
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Southampton
8pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton
Wolves lost 1-0 away to Leicester in their last game and they’re three points behind Southampton going into this game. They have taken seven points from their last three home games and they only conceded one goal in those games with only West Ham conceding less goals at home. They had taken 10 points from four games before losing to Leicester and no other team has conceded less goals.
Rui Patricio and Max Kilman are looking pretty good for fantasy managers at the moment with Raul Jiminez a possibility too.
Southampton won 2-0 at home to Newcastle in their last game and that win was enough to move them into the top four. They have taken seven points and scored eight goals in their last three away games as yet again they look a very tough proposition on their travels. They have taken 16 points and kept four clean sheets in their last six games.
With Danny Ings injured Che Adams could be the Southampton player to have for fantasy managers while Jannik Vestergaard and Alex McCarthy are worth considering too and Theo Walcott could be an outside bet.
I think there will be very little between these two teams with a draw probably the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 1-1
That’s it for this week.
See you next week.
