My decision to bring in both Mohamed Salah and Matheus Cunha really paid off as they each had a great week and Salah was my captain too. Unfortunately selling Emile Smith Rowe looks like a bad decision now and I left too many points on my bench while other players I opted for did very little. It meant I dropped a little in the overall rankings, but I’m still in a very strong position.
I’m tempted to sell Danny Welbeck and buy Joao Pedro despite how much Welbeck has done for me so far as I think Pedro has more points in him if he stays fit. Other than that I could do with a plan to get both Alexander Isak and Ibrahima Konate into my team and I think I need to find a new keeper as Brentford are the only team without a clean sheet and I have Mark Flekken. Despite these issues my team is still doing very well and I’m hoping to move back up in the rankings again this week.
Saturday November 23
Leicester City v Chelsea
12.30pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester
Leicester lost 3-0 away to United in their last game and they’re now only three points above the relegation zone. They have only won once in their five home games with only three other teams scoring less goals on their own ground. They have only taken one point from their last three games and they conceded seven goals in those games with only three other teams conceding more goals.
If Jamie Vardy is fit to play he’s probably the best of the bunch in the Leicester team for fantasy managers with Facundo Buenanotte worth considering too.
Chelsea came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Arsenal last time out and that point was enough to keep them in third place. They have taken 10 points from their five away games with only two other teams taking more points on the road and no other team scoring more goals. They have only won once in their last five games and only three other teams have scored more goals.
Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson are the Chelsea players who can make a difference for fantasy managers.
I think Chelsea should be strong enough to win this game by a couple of goals.
Prediction: 1-3
Arsenal v Nottingham Forest
3pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London
Arsenal drew 1-1 away to Chelsea in their last game and that point saw them move into fourth place, but they’re nine points behind Liverpool. They’re one of four teams still unbeaten at home with only Brentford and Spurs scoring more goals on their own patch. They have only taken two points from their last four games and they failed to score in two of them with only three other teams conceding less goals.
Bukayo Saka is the Arsenal player to have for fantasy managers and their defenders and keeper should come good very soon too.
Forest lost 3-1 at home to Newcastle last time out after leading 1-0 and that loss saw them drop out of the top four on goal difference. They’re one of two teams still unbeaten away from home with only Liverpool conceding less goals on their travels. They had won three games in a row before losing to Newcastle, but they have some tough games coming up and only Liverpool have conceded less goals.
Chris Wood has been in great form for fantasy managers while the Forest defenders and keeper have all done very well too.
Arsenal cannot afford to drop any points in this game and I think they should be able to meet those expectations.
Prediction: 2-1
Aston Villa v Crystal Palace
3pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham
Villa lost 2-0 away to Liverpool in their last game, but they’re still only one point off the top four. They have taken eight points from their last four home games and they have a good run of games coming up on their own ground. They have only won once in their last six games and they conceded six goals in their last two games with no other team in the top half of the table conceding more goals.
Villa players haven’t done much for fantasy managers recently, but Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Lucas Digne could do very well over the next few weeks.
Palace lost 2-0 at home to Fulham last time out and that defeat saw them drop into the bottom three. They’re one of four teams without an away win and only two other teams have scored less goals on the road. They have only won once so far this season and they have a tough run of fixtures coming up while only Southampton have scored less goals.
I can’t see any Palace players doing enough to interest fantasy managers at the moment.
I think Villa will get a much needed victory in this game, but it will be close.
Prediction: 2-1
Bournemouth v Brighton And Hove Albion
3pm GMT, Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
Bournemouth lost 3-2 away to Brentford in their last game after twice taking the lead, but they’re still only one point off the top half of the table. They have won their last three home games and they scored seven goals in those games while only Liverpool and Newcastle have conceded less goals on their own patch. They have beaten last season’s top two already this season and they have a good run of games coming up.
Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson are the Bournemouth players fantasy managers should consider at the moment.
Brighton came from behind to win 2-1 at home to City last time out and they’re only outside the top four on goal difference. They have only won once in their last four away games, but they were four very difficult games and their away fixtures are about to get a lot better. They have taken 10 points from their last five games and only one of their next seven games is against teams in the top half of the table.
Danny Welbeck has been the Brighton player to have for fantasy managers, but Joao Pedro looks like a very good choice too now that he’s back from injury.
This is a game which could go either way and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw.
Prediction: 2-2
Everton v Brentford
3pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool
Everton drew 0-0 away to West Ham in their last game and they’re now only three points above the relegation zone. They’re unbeaten in their last three home games after losing the previous two, but only two other teams have scored less goals on their own ground. They have only lost once in their last seven games after losing their opening four games, but they drew four of those games and only two other teams have scored less goals.
If he’s fit to play Dwight McNeil is the Everton player who can make a difference for fantasy managers and he’s still available at a good price.
Brentford twice came from behind to win 3-2 at home to Bournemouth last time out and they’re only outside the top half of the table on goal difference. They’re one of two teams without a point away from home with only Southampton scoring less goals on the road. The contrast between their home form and their away form is incredible with only Spurs scoring more goals and only Wolves conceding more.
Both Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa are very good choices for fantasy managers, but they do most of their best work at home.
This is a tough game to call, but I think I will opt for a narrow Everton win.
Prediction: 2-1
Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers
3pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London
Fulham won 2-0 away to Palace in their last game and that win moved them within a point of the top four. They have taken 10 points from their five home games and they have a relatively good run of home games coming up. They have taken seven points from their last three games, but they play three of the big six in their next five games.
Emile Smith Rowe and Raul Jiminez are the best bets in the Fulham team for fantasy managers with Antonee Robinson an option too.
Wolves won 2-0 at home to Southampton last time out and that win was enough to get them off the foot of the table. They’re one of four teams without an away win and only two other teams have conceded more goals on their travels. Their win against Southampton was their first win of the season and no other team has conceded more goals, but they have a very good run of fixtures coming up.
Matheus Cunha, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Rayan Ait-Nouri could all do very well for fantasy managers over the next few weeks.
This looks like being a very close game and a draw is probably the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 2-2
Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur
5.30pm GMT, Etihad Stadium, Manchester
City led away to Brighton in their last game, but they ended up losing 2-1 and they’re now five points behind Liverpool at the top of the table. They’re one of four teams still unbeaten at home and their next three home games are not the easiest. They have lost their last two games after being unbeaten in the previous nine with only Spurs scoring more goals.
Erling Haaland looks like he might be back to form for fantasy managers with Josko Gvardiol a very good choice too.
Spurs lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich last time out and they only held on to their place in the top half of the table on goal difference, but they’re still only three points off the top four. They have only won once in their five away games and this is probably their hardest away game this season. They have lost three of their last five games, but no other team has scored more goals.
Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-Min, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke are all looking like good options for fantasy managers at the moment.
I think City will get back to winning ways with a couple of goals to spare in this game.
Prediction: 3-1
Sunday November 24
Southampton v Liverpool
2pm GMT, St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton
Southampton lost 2-0 away to Wolves in their last game and that saw them drop to the bottom of the table. They have taken four points from their last three home games, but only Palace have scored less goals on their own patch. They have lost nine of their 11 games and no other team has scored less goals with only three other teams conceding more.
I can’t see any Southampton players doing enough to interest fantasy managers at the moment.
Liverpool won 2-0 at home to Villa last time out and that win saw them open a five point lead at the top of the table. They’re one of two teams still unbeaten away from home with no other team taking more points or conceding less goals on their travels while only Chelsea have scored more goals. They have won nine of their 11 games with no other team conceding less goals and only three other teams scoring more.
Mohamed Salah is an absolute must have for fantasy managers with Luis Diaz and all of the Liverpool defenders and keeper great choices too.
I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Liverpool victory in this game.
Prediction: 0-3
Ipswich v Manchester United
4.30pm GMT, Portman Road, Ipswich
Ipswich won 2-1 away to Spurs to register their first win of the season in their last game and that win moved them out of the relegation zone. They’re the only team without a home win, but no other team has drawn more games on their own ground and only Palace have scored less goals. They have taken four points from their last three games after failing to win the previous eight and no other team has drawn more games with only Wolves conceding more goals.
Liam Delap is the Ipswich player who can return points for fantasy managers.
United won 3-0 at home to Leicester last time out, but they’re still in 13th place despite being only four points off the top four. They have only won once in their five away games with only Liverpool conceding less goals on the road and only Southampton and Brentford scoring less. They have only lost one of their last five games after losing three of the previous six and they will hope the arrival of Ruben Amorim can revive their fortunes.
With a new manager Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and the United defenders and keeper could be of real interest to fantasy managers.
I think United should have enough to get off to a winning start under their new manager.
Prediction: 1-3
Monday November 25
Newcastle United v West Ham United
8pm GMT, St. James’s Park, Newcastle
Newcastle came from behind to win 3-1 away to Forest in their last game and they’re now only one point off the top four. They have taken 10 points from their five home games with no other teams conceding less goals on their own patch, but only three other teams scoring less. They have won their last two games after failing to win the previous five and no other team in the top half of the table has scored less goals.
Alexander Isak is the Newcastle player to have for fantasy managers with Anthony Gordon worth considering too.
West Ham drew 0-0 at home to Everton last time out and they’re just about as close to the top half of the table as they are to the relegation zone. They have lost their last two away games and they conceded seven goals in those games with only two other teams scoring less goals on their travels. They have two very tough games in a row and there could be some real pressure on their manager if results don’t improve soon.
Jarrod Bowen is the only West Ham player doing enough to interest fantasy managers at the moment.
I think Newcastle will continue to climb the table with another win in this game.
Prediction: 3-1
That’s it for this week
See you next week.
