Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 30

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do too badly last week with one perfect prediction, six correct outcomes and six incorrect outcomes which left me in fifth place in my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

With only four games this week it’s going to be difficult for a lot of fantasy managers to field a full team. I would imagine quite a few will use their free hit option or take a points hit to make up the numbers. It’s not easy to pick a captain with most of the usual suspects not playing, but I’ll probably opt for Heung-Min Son.

Friday March 18

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leeds United

8pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves won 1-0 away to Everton last week, buy they’re still in eighth place and just about staying in the race for a top four finish. They have lost as many games as they have won at home and only three other teams have scored less goals on their own patch. They have won their last two games after losing the previous three and they have a good run of games coming up.

The Wolves defenders and keeper are all looking like good options for fantasy managers this week while Raul Jiminez could fo a good job too.

Leeds got a last minute goal to win 2-1 at home to Norwich last week and that win moved them four points above the relegation zone. They have lost their last three away games without scoring and they conceded 10 goals in those games with no other team conceding more goals on the road. They won their last game after losing the previous six with no other team conceding more goals.

Raphinha is the Leeds player who can make a difference for fantasy managers, but he won’t find it easy in this game.

I think this will be a close game with Wolves probably winning by one goal.

Prediction: 1-0

Saturday March 19

Aston Villa v Arsenal

12.30pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham

Villa lost 2-1 away to West Ham last week, but they still managed to stay in the top half of the table. They have only won once in their last five home games, but only four other teams have scored more goals on their own patch. They had won three games in a row without conceding a goal before losing to West Ham, but they have a very tough run of games at the moment.

Phillippe Coutinho and Jacob Ramsey are the Villa players most likely to do well for fantasy managers with Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins worth considering too.

Arsenal won 2-0 at home to Leicester and then lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool last week, but they managed to keep their place in the top four. They have won their last four away games and they scored 13 goals in those games, but seven of their last 11 games are away from home. They had won five games in a row before losing to Liverpool and their top four chances could well depend on their ability to bounce back from that defeat.

Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette are the best of the Arsenal players for fantasy managers with their defenders and keeper doing well too.

I think this will be a very close game and the chances are the spoils will be shared.

Prediction: 1-1

Sunday March 20

Leicester City v Brentford

2pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester

Leicester lost 2-0 away to Arsenal last week and that defeat meant they stayed in the bottom half of the table, but they have games in hand on the teams above them. They have only won once in their last four home games, but they don’t play any of the big six in their last six home games. They had won two games in a row before losing to Arsenal and their run of games coming up suggests they could climb the table.

James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are the Leicester players to interest fantasy managers and they will have extra games coming up pretty soon.

Brentford won 2-0 at home to Burnley last week and they’re now eight points above the bottom three with relegation looking highly unlikely. They won their last away game after losing the previous five and they still have to face two of the big six in their last four away games after this. They have won their last two games after only taking one point from their previous eight games, but only five other teams have conceded more goals.

Ivan Toney has been in fantastic form for fantasy managers recently and he’s still available at a good price.

I think Leicester will get the win they need to take them back into the top half of the table.

Prediction: 2-1

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United

4.30pm GMT, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Spurs lost 3-2 away to United and won 2-0 away to Brighton last week to stay within three points of the top four. They won their last home game after losing the previous two and they have a very good run of home games coming up. They have won three of their last four games and they scored 13 goals in those games while keeping three clean sheets.

Both Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are very good choices for fantasy managers along with Dejan Kulusevski.

West Ham won 2-1 at home to Villa last week and they’re ahead of Spurs on goal difference going into this game with the same top four ambitions. They have only taken one point from their last three away games and they still have some tough away games to come. They have taken 11 points from their last six games and only the top three have scored more goals.

With injuries keeping some of their better players out the best bet for fantasy managers in the West Ham team this week could be Said Benrahma.

I think this will be a very close game and the chances are the spoils will be shared.

Prediction: 1-1

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
