Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 32

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do so well last week with two correct predictions and three incorrect predictions which saw me lose some ground in my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

Saturday March 30

Fulham v Manchester City

12.30pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London

Fulham lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool in their last game and they could be relegated by the time they have finished their two games this week. They have lost their last three home games with no other team conceding more goals at home and only Huddersfield losing more games. They have lost their last seven games and they conceded 17 goals in those games with no other team conceding more goals and only Huddersfield and Cardiff scoring less.

I can’t see any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers despite them having two games this week.

City won their last match at home to Watford, but they dropped back to second place two points behind Liverpool with a game in hand to play. They have won four of their last five away games and no other team has conceded less goals away from home. They have won 10 of their last 11 games with clean sheets in four their last five and no other team has won more games or scored more goals with only Liverpool conceding less.

With two games this week City players are at a premium for fantasy managers and Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling are probably the most likely ones to perform well as long as they play both games.

I can’t see anything other than a comfortable City victory in this game.

Prediction: 0-3

Brighton And Hove Albion v Southampton

3pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton

Brighton won their last game away to Palace to move five points and three places clear of the relegation zone. They have only lost four of their 14 home games and only five other teams have conceded less goals at home. They won their last two games after failing to win in the previous seven and a win in this game against a team below then would be a huge boost to their chances of staying up.

With two games this week Brighton players might just be of interest to fantasy managers with Glenn Murray the most likely to impress while Anthony Knockaert has done well in recent weeks.

Southampton came from behind to win their last game at home to Spurs and they needed those three points to stay out of the bottom three. They played well in losing their last two away games at United and Arsenal and they were unbeaten in four away games before those two games. They have only lost three of their last 10 games, but they have drawn more games than any other team.

James Ward-Prowse is the in form Southampton player for fantasy managers and he’s available at a very good price too.

I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end all square.

Prediction: 1-1

Burnley v Wolverhampton Wanderers

3pm GMT, Turf Moor, Burnley

Burnley lost 2-1 at home to 10 man Leicester in their last game and they’re now only two points and one place above the relegation zone. They have lost their last two home games and only Huddersfield have lost more games on their own patch while only Cardiff and Fulham have conceded more goals at home. They have lost their last four games and they conceded 11 goals in those games with only Fulham conceding more goals.

With only one game this week Burnley players aren’t the best bet for fantasy managers, but Dwight McNeil is a very reasonably priced player who has done well in recent weeks.

Wolves drew their last game away to Chelsea and that point was enough to keep them ahead of the chasing pack in the fight for seventh place. They haven’t won in their last three away games, but only six other teams have taken more points away from home. They have only lost once in their last eight games and only four other teams have conceded less goals.

Wolves have two games this week and that could make players like Raul Jiminez, Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty very appealing to fantasy managers.

I think this will be another close game, but I think Wolves will manage a narrow win.

Prediction: 1-2

Crystal Palace v Huddersfield Town

3pm GMT, Selhurst Park, London

Palace lost their last game at home to Brighton and they’re still not clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table. They have only won once in their last seven home games with only Huddersfield taking less points and scoring less goals at home. They have taken 10 points from their last six games and a similar return from here on in will be more than enough to keep them up.

Jeffrey Schlupp could be of real interest to fantasy managers with two games this week with both Wilfried Zaha and Luka Milivojevic worth considering too.

Huddersfield led 3-1 at West Ham in their last game, but they ended up losing 4-3 and defeat in this game could possibly see them relegated. They have only taken one point in their last eight away games with only Fulham taking less points on the road. They have only taken four points from their last 18 games and no other team has lost more games or scored less goals.

I can’t see any Huddersfield players to recommend to fantasy managers.

I think Palace will get a rare home win in this game.

Prediction: 2-1

Leicester City v Bournemouth

3pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester

Leicester won 2-1 away to Burnley last time out despite being down to 10 men for almost the whole game. They have won their last two home games after losing the previous four and only five other teams have taken less points at home. They have won three of their last four games and have a good run of games coming up in the next few weeks which could see them finish as high as seventh place.

Jamie Vardy, James Maddison and Youri Tielemans have all been in good form recently for fantasy managers, but they only have one game this week.

Bournemouth drew their last game 2-2 at home to Newcastle and they look to have enough points to stay clear of the relegation battle. They won their last away game at Huddersfield, but they had lost nine in a row on the road before that game with only Fulham conceding more goals away from home. That win at Huddersfield was their only win in their last seven games, but they are the highest scorers in the bottom half of the table.

Ryan Fraser, Josh King and Callum Wilson have all done well for fantasy managers in recent weeks, but like Leicester they only play once this week when so many other teams play twice.

I think Leicester will continue their mini revival by taking the three points in this game.

Prediction: 3-1

Manchester United v Watford

3pm GMT, Old Trafford, Manchester

United lost 2-0 away to Arsenal in their last game and that defeat dropped them out of the top four. They are unbeaten in their last 12 home games, but they did draw five of those games and they have taken as many points away from home as they have at home. Their defeat at Arsenal was their first defeat in 13 league games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they still have high hopes of a top four finish.

Paul Pogba is probably the United player to have for fantasy managers this week as they play twice while both Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford are good choices too if they’re fit to play.

Watford lost 3-1 away to City in their last game, but they’re still only one point behind seventh place. They have lost three of their last five away games, but they included trips to Liverpool, City and Spurs. They still have three of the top six to play and that could hamper their chances of finishing seventh.

Like so many other teams Watford play twice this week which makes both Gerard Deulofeu and Troy Deeney very attractive to fantasy managers.

I think United will win this game, but Watford won’t make it easy for them.

Prediction: 2-1

West Ham United v Everton

5.30pm GMT, London Stadium, London

West Ham came from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at home to Huddersfield in their last game and that win moved them within two points of seventh place. They’re unbeaten in their last six home games and they have scored nine goals in their last three home games with only the top six taking more points on their home patch. Their away from is their problem and they have some very tough away games on the horizon.

I can’t see any West Ham players who might make a difference for fantasy managers over the next few weeks.

Everton won 2-0 at home to Chelsea in their last game, but they’re still in the bottom half of the table. They have won three and lost four of their last seven away games, but those wins were all against teams in the bottom four. They have lost four of their last seven games, but they hold out hopes of a top seven finish.

I’m not sure there are any Everton players to interest fantasy managers over the next weeks, but Gylfi Sigurdsson is the most likely to do well.

I think this will be another very close game with West Ham just about getting the better of proceedings.

Prediction: 1-0

Sunday March 31

Cardiff City v Chelsea

2.05pm BST, Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff

Cardiff won 2-0 at home to Everton in their last game, but they’re still in the bottom three with only eight games left to play. They have a better home record than the rest of the teams struggling at the wrong end of the table, but they have conceded more goals at home than any other team. They might play twice this week, but the quality of the opposition in both games suggests it could be a tough week for them.

Despite having two games this week I still can’t see any Cardiff players to recommend to fantasy managers as those games are against Chelsea and City.

Chelsea lost 2-0 away to Everton in their last game and they need to halt their current slide if they are going to keep pace with the top four. They have lost four of their last five away games and they failed to score in each of those defeats. They have only taken 10 points from their last eight games and they’re the lowest scorers among the top six.

With two games this week Eden Hazard, Gonzalo Higuain and the Chelsea defenders and keeper are all good choices for fantasy managers.

I think Chelsea will put their away day blues behind them and take the three points in this game with a couple of goals to spare.

Prediction: 1-3

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur

4.30pm BST, Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool won 2-1 away to Fulham last time out to go back to the top of the table, but they have played a game more than City. They’re the only team still unbeaten at home and no other team has conceded less home goals. Despite only losing one game they have drawn four of their last eight with no other team conceding less goals and only City scoring more.

Even though they only play once this week it’s hard to ignore Sadio Mane at the moment for fantasy managers.

Spurs led away to Southampton in their last game, but they lost 2-1 and they have been drawn back into a four team battle for the last two places in the top four. Despite losing their last three away games only Liverpool have taken more points on the road and no other team has scored more away goals. They have only taken one point in their last four games and in that time have gone from being perceived as title challengers to being in a scrap to finish in the top four.

Harry Kane has to be a real possibility for fantasy managers with two games this week while Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are worth considering too.

I think Liverpool should just about have enough to get the better of Spurs and hang on to their lead at the top of the table for a few more days at least.

Prediction: 2-1

Monday April 1

Arsenal v Newcastle United

8pm BST, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal won 2-0 at home to United in their last game to move into fourth place and within one point of third placed Spurs. They have won their last nine home games with only the top two taking more points and scoring more goals at home. They have taken 22 points from their last 10 games and that form might just be enough to see them finish in the top four.

With only one game this week Arsenal players won’t be foremost in the thoughts of fantasy managers, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny have all done well in recent weeks.

Newcastle got a last minute goal to snatch a point away to Bournemouth in their last game and they now have seven points to spare over the bottom three. They haven’t won in their last seven away games, but only four other teams have conceded less goals on their travels. They have taken 10 points from their last five games and their run of games until the end of the season should be enough to keep them up.

Solomon Rondon has been the Newcastle player to watch for fantasy managers in recent weeks.

I think Arsenal will continue their winning ways at home with a couple of goals to spare in this game.

Prediction: 3-1

Tuesday April 2

Watford v Fulham

7.45pm BST, Vicarage Road, Watford

Watford play their second game of the week and a home game against Fulham is infinitely easier than their weekend game away to United. They have only lost one of their last six home games and that should stretch to one in seven after this game.

With an FA Cup semi final coming up on Sunday Watford might be tempted to rest some players in this game, but if they don’t Gerard Deulofeu and Troy Deeney could do very well for fantasy managers.

Fulham won’t fear this game quite as much as their game against City on Saturday, but the chances are defeats in both games will confirm their relegation. They’re the only team without an away win and no other team has conceded more away goals with only Cardiff scoring less.

I can’t see any Fulham players to interest fantasy managers between here and the end of the season.

I think Watford should be good enough to win comfortably in this game even if they rest a few players for their FA Cup game.

Prediction: 3-0

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Manchester United

7.45pm BST, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves have an FA Cup semi final on Sunday to contend with too and they could be tempted to rest players, but I would be surprised if they did so in this game. They have taken 10 points from their last four home games and they won at home to United in the FA Cup only a few weeks ago.

Despite playing Burnley on Sunday the Wolves players aren’t quite so attractive to fantasy managers in this game against a United team who are usually so strong away from home.

United will be anxious to avenge their FA Cup quarter final defeat to Wolves and take the chance to possibly climb as high as third in the table in this game. Their defeat at Arsenal ended a run of six away wins in a row with only Spurs scoring more goals away from home.

With no game the following weekend United can put out their strongest team and that makes their players very attractive to fantasy managers in this game.

I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see United sneak a narrow victory.

Prediction: 1-2

Wednesday April 3

Chelsea v Brighton And Hove Albion

7.45pm BST, Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea have a real chance to get back among the teams chasing for a top four finish with two very winnable games this week. They have only lost one home game and they have taken 10 points from their last four home games with only Liverpool conceding less goals at home.

Once they come through unscathed against Cardiff some of the Chelsea players could make a real difference for fantasy managers this week.

Brighton have to consider their FA Cup semi final against City in picking their team for this game and the right result against Southampton on Saturday will make it a lot easier. They won their last away game at Palace to put an end to a run of seven away games without a win, but only the bottom three have taken less away points.

Brighton don’t tend to do so well away from home so I’m not expecting too much from any of their players for fantasy managers in this game.

I can’t see anything other than a comprehensive Chelsea win in this game.

Prediction: 3-0

Manchester City v Cardiff City

7.45pm BST, Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City have an FA Cup semi final on Saturday to consider too, but their title chase with Liverpool will surely mean they will play a strong team in this game. They have won 15 of their 16 home games with no other team taking more points or scoring more goals at home. Two wins in their two games against teams in the relegation zone this week will put them back to the top of the table and anything other than six points in those two games would be a huge surprise.

As long as City play a strong team in both games this week this could be a very good week for fantasy managers who have their players.

Cardiff play their second game of a very tough week and their chances of staying up won’t depend on how they do in these two games. They have won two of their last five away games, but only Fulham and Huddersfield have taken less points away from home and no other team has scored less goals on the road.

I can’t see any Cardiff players who will make any impression for fantasy managers this week, but they do have some interesting fixtures before the season ends.

I’d be very surprised with anything other than a comfortable City win in this game.

Prediction: 4-0

Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace

7.45pm BST, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Spurs could well find themselves as low as fifth in the table going into this game after a very tough trip to Liverpool on Sunday. They have taken 10 points from their last four home games and they will want to get life in their new stadium off to a good start in this game.

Surely Harry Kane will do the business for fantasy managers in Spurs’ first game in their new stadium.

Palace might just be looking forward to spoiling the party for Spurs in the first game in their new stadium considering their exploits away from home this season. They have taken 13 points from their last six away games with only six other teams taking more away points and only five teams scoring more away goals.

With this game and the home game against Huddersfield it could be a good week for fantasy managers with Palace players.

I think Palace will give Spurs a real run for their money, but Spurs will just about get off to a winning start in their new stadium.

Prediction: 2-1

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
