It's that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I did reasonably well at the weekend with one perfect prediction, four correct outcomes and five incorrect outcomes to stay within touch of the leaders in my predictions league. Here's a look at how the top five in that league stands with my team just 40 points off fifth place.

Tuesday December 4
Bournemouth v Huddersfield Town
7.45pm GMT, Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
Bournemouth played well away to City on Saturday, but they ended up losing 3-1 to drop back to ninth place. They have lost their last two home games to United and Arsenal, but they should find Huddersfield an easier opponent. They have lost their last four games and conceded nine goals in the process, but they have only failed to score in two of their 14 games.
Callum Wilson showed how valuable he is to fantasy managers with a goal against City on Saturday while Ryan Fraser, Josh King and David Brooks are all very good options too.
Huddersfield were looking good at home to Brighton on Saturday, but they had a man sent off and ended up losing 2-1. They have taken as many points away from home as they have at home and they have scored twice as many goals on the road. The defeat against Brighton was their first defeat in four games, but no other team has scored less goals with only four other teams conceding more.
Christopher Schindler is the only possibility among the Huddersfield players for fantasy managers to consider.
I think Bournemouth will get back to winning ways with a couple of goals to spare in this game.
Prediction: 3-1
Brighton And Hove Albion v Crystal Palace
7.45pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton
Brighton came from behind to win 2-1 away to 10 man Huddersfield on Saturday and move up to 11th place. They have only lost one of their six home games and they kept clean sheets in two of their last three at home. They have taken 13 points from their last seven games and they didn’t fail to score in any of those games.
As I say every week Glenn Murray is the Brighton player to have for fantasy managers when they are at home while Shane Duffy has done quite well too.
Palace finally got their first home win of the season when they beat Burnley 2-0 on Saturday to move three points clear of the bottom three. They have taken more points and scored more goals away from home than they have at home. Their win against Burnley was their first win in nine games and they failed to score in five of those games with only Huddersfield scoring less goals.
Palace’s defenders have done reasonably well for fantasy managers despite their lowly league position.
This isn’t an easy game to predict and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw.
Prediction: 1-1
West Ham United v Cardiff City
7.45pm GMT, London Stadium, London
West Ham got a very good 3-0 win away to Newcastle on Saturday to move six points clear of the relegation zone. They have lost four of their seven home games and only four teams have conceded more goals at home. Their win against Newcastle was only their second win in seven games, but they’re the top scoring team in the bottom half of the table.
Marco Arnautovic and Felipe Anderson are the West Ham players to have for fantasy managers with Lukasz Fabianski worth a shout too.
Cardiff came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Wolves on Friday night to move out of the relegation zone. No other team has taken less points or scored less goals away from home. They have won three of their last six games, but they were all at home and only the bottom two have conceded more goals.
I’m still not convinced there are any Cardiff players worth recommending to fantasy managers.
I think West Ham should get their second win in a row in this game.
Prediction: 3-1
Watford v Manchester City
8pm GMT, Vicarage Road, Watford
Watford lost 2-0 away to Leicester on Saturday, but they’re still just in the top half of the table. They have won four of their seven home games, but they have conceded more goals than they have scored at home. They have only taken one point and scored one goal in their last four games.
Roberto Pereyra has been the Watford player to have for fantasy managers, but maybe not in this game.
City won 3-1 at home to Bournemouth on Saturday to keep their two point lead at the top of the table. They’re still unbeaten away from home and they have only conceded one goal in their six away games. They’re one of two unbeaten teams and they have scored more goals than any other team with only Liverpool conceding less.
Raheem Sterling is a must have for fantasy managers at the moment while it’s take your pick from Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane with all of City’s defenders and keeper doing very well too.
I think City will get the better of this game with at least two goals to spare.
Prediction: 0-3
Wednesday December 5
Burnley v Liverpool
7.45pm GMT, Turf Moor, Liverpool
Burnley lost 2-0 at Palace on Saturday to drop to second last in the table and they’re only one point above Fulham. They have taken less points at home than any other team and only three teams have conceded more goals on their own patch. They have only taken two points in their last seven games and they conceded 18 goals in those games.
I can’t see any Burnley players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.
Liverpool managed a last gasp 1-0 win at home to Everton on Sunday to stay two points behind City at the top of the table. Only Spurs have taken more points away from home and only City have conceded less goals on the road. They’re one of two unbeaten teams and they have kept clean sheets in nine of their 14 games.
Liverpool’s defenders and keeper seem to be the best bets for fantasy managers this season with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane doing very well too.
I can’t see anything other than a Liverpool win in this game.
Prediction: 0-2
Everton v Newcastle United
7.45pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool
Everton were a little unlucky to lose 1-0 at Liverpool on Sunday, but they held on to sixth place on goal difference ahead of United. They have won their last four home games and they only conceded one goal in those four games. They have taken 16 points in their last eight games with only defeats against United and Liverpool in those games.
Gylfi Sigurdsson is still the best fantasy option in the Everton team with Richarlison plus their defenders and keeper worth keeping an eye on too.
Newcastle’s good run came to an end on Saturday when they lost 3-0 at home to West Ham, but they’re still three points above the bottom three. They have only won once in their six away games with only Cardiff scoring less away goals, but with only three other teams conceding less. The defeat against West Ham was their first defeat in five games and it put an end to a run of three consecutive wins.
I’m still not sure there are any Newcastle players to interest fantasy managers.
I think Everton will be too strong for Newcastle and should take the three points.
Prediction: 2-0
Fulham v Leicester City
7.45pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London
Fulham lost 2-0 at Chelsea on Sunday and they’re still rooted to the foot of the table. They have taken seven of their eight points at home, but no other team has conceded more home goals. They have lost seven of their last eight games with no other team conceding more goals.
Both Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andree Schurrle are possibilities for fantasy managers to consider if Fulham can perform like they did in their first game under Claudio Ranieri.
Leicester won 2-0 at home to Watford on Saturday to move within one point of the top six. They have taken 10 points from their seven away games with only the “top six” taking more points on the road. They’re unbeaten in five games with clean sheets in three of those games, but they did draw three of those games.
Jamie Vardy and James Maddison are the Leicester players to have for fantasy managers.
I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended in a draw.
Prediction: 2-2
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Chelsea
7.45pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton
Wolves lost 2-1 away to Cardiff on Friday night and their good start to the season seems a distant memory. They have lost their last three home games and they failed to score in two of those games. They have only taken one point in their last six games and they conceded 11 goals in those games.
Matt Doherty and Raul Jiminez are still the Wolves players most likely to make a difference for fantasy managers.
Chelsea won 2-0 at home to Fulham on Sunday to move back up to third in the table. They have only lost one of their six away games with only City conceding less goals away from home. They have only lost one game so far with only City and Arsenal scoring more goals and only Liverpool and City conceding less.
Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso are the Chelsea players to have for fantasy managers while the rest of the defenders and keeper are worth having too.
I think this will be a close game, but I think Chelsea’s firepower will give them the edge.
Prediction: 1-2
Manchester United v Arsenal
8pm GMT, Old Trafford, Manchester
United came from 2-0 down to get a 2-2 draw at Southampton on Saturday and they’re only outside the top six on goal difference. They have only won half of their six home games and they have only managed eight goals in those six games. They haven’t won in three games and they have only kept two clean sheets in their 14 games so far with only the bottom five teams conceding more goals.
Anthony Martial is the United player to have for fantasy managers if he’s passed fit to play.
Arsenal came back from 2-1 down to win 4-2 at home to Spurs on Sunday and they moved above their local rivals into fourth place. They have won four of their six away games with only Spurs scoring more goals away from home. They’re unbeaten in 12 games with wins in nine of those games and only City have scored more goals.
Pierre-Emireck Aubameyang is a must have for fantasy managers at this stage while Alexandre Lacazette isn’t the worst choice either.
I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arsenal just about get the better of United.
Prediction: 1-2
Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton
8pm GMT, Wembley Stadium, London
Spurs lost 4-2 at Arsenal on Sunday and that defeat saw them drop out of the top four on goal difference behind Arsenal. They have lost two of their five home games, but only Liverpool have conceded less goals at home. They have won seven of their last nine games and only the top three teams have conceded less goals.
Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are the Spurs players to interest fantasy managers at the moment.
Southampton led 2-0 at home to United on Saturday, but they ended up drawing 2-2 and that draw dropped them into the relegation zone. Only Fulham have lost more away games with only Fulham and Burnley conceding more goals on the road. They haven’t won in 10 games and they failed to score in half of those games.
Stuart Armstrong has got his chance in the last two games and he has done very well for fantasy managers.
I can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for Spurs in this game.
Prediction: 2-0
That’s it for this week.
See you next week.
