Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 13

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do well last week with only two correct predictions and eight incorrect, but others did worse and I actually improved my position in my predictions league. I’m in sixth place at the moment and here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

Saturday November 24

Brighton And Hove Albion v Leicester City

3pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton

Brighton lost 2-1 away to Cardiff in their last game, but they’re still six points above the bottom three. They have taken 10 points from their five home games and only three other teams have conceded less goals at home. They lost their last two games, but they won the previous three without conceding a goal.

Glenn Murray is the best of the Brighton players for fantasy managers and particularly when they’re at home while Shane Duffy, Lewis Dunk and Matthew Ryan haven’t done too badly either.

Leicester drew 0-0 at home to Burnley last time out to just about hold on to their place in the top half of the table. They have won three and lost three of their six away games and they kept clean sheets in two of their last three away games. They didn't concede in their last two games, but goals have dried up for them recently too with only four in their last five games.

With James Maddison and Harry Maguire both injured it’s hard to see any Leicester players to recommend to fantasy managers.

I think Leicester should probably be favourites to win this game, but Brighton are no pushover at home and a draw is the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 1-1

Everton v Cardiff  City

3pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool

Everton got a very good 0-0 draw away to Chelsea in their last game and they’re only one point off the top six. They have won their last three home games and scored eight goals in the process with only the top three scoring more home goals. They have taken 13 points from their last six games and they kept clean sheets in three of those games.

I still think Richarlison is the best fantasy option in the Everton team while Gylfi Sigurdsson (if he’s fit), Michael Keene and Jordan Pickford are worth considering too.

Cardiff got a last minute goal to win 2-1 at home to 10 man Brighton in their last game, but they’re still in the relegation zone on goal difference. No other team has taken less points or scored less goals away from home. Only Fulham have lost more games and conceded more goals, but they have won two of their last four games.

Callum Paterson has done well in recent weeks for fantasy managers, but it’s risky to pick a Cardiff player.

I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Everton win in this game.

Prediction: 3-0

Fulham v Southampton

3pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London

Fulham played reasonably well in their last game, but they lost 2-0 away to Liverpool to stay rooted to the foot of the table. Only Palace have taken less points at home and only Cardiff have conceded more goals on their own patch. They have lost more games and conceded more goals than any other team and they have lost their last six games as well as failing to score in their last three.

I can’t see any Fulham players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

Southampton drew 1-1 at home to Watford last time out to stay above the relegation zone on goal difference. They have lost four of their six away games and only two other teams have scored less away goals. They haven't won in eight games and they failed to score in five of those games with only Huddersfield scoring less goals.

If he’s fit to play Danny Ings is the Southampton player most likely to perform for fantasy managers.

Both of these teams could really do with a win in this game, but a draw is probably the most likely result.

Prediction: 1-1

Manchester United v Crystal Palace

3pm GMT, Old Trafford, Manchester

United lost 3-1 at City in their last game and they’re already 12 points behind their local rivals after only 12 games. They have conceded as many goals as they have scored at home and they haven't kept a clean sheet at home so far. Despite a poor start to their season they're only seven points off the top four and they have only failed to score in one game, but they have only kept one clean sheet too.

Anthony Martial is the United player to have for fantasy managers at the moment while Paul Pogba isn’t doing too badly either.

Palace lost 1-0 at home to Spurs in their last game and they’re only above the bottom three on goal difference now. They have taken less points and scored less goals at home than any other team and they're one of two teams without a home win. They haven't won in seven games and they failed to score in four of those games with only Huddersfield scoring less goals.

I can’t see any Palace players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

I think Palace will give United a run for their money, but United will probably get a narrow victory.

Prediction: 2-1

Watford v Liverpool

3pm GMT, Vicarage Road, Watford

Watford came from behind to get a 1-1 draw at Southampton last time out and they're only outside the top six on goal difference. They have won four of their six home games, but they have lost two of their last three on their own ground. They have two clean sheets in their last four games, but they have failed to score in three of their last six.

Roberto Pereyra has been the best of the Watford players for fantasy managers with Jose Holebas not too far behind, but this might not be the best game to have them.

Liverpool were far from convincing in their last game, but a 2-0 win at home to Fulham was enough to move them up to second place. Only Spurs have taken more points away from home and only Chelsea and City have conceded less goals, but they have only scored nine goals in their six away games. They're one of three unbeaten teams and they have kept clean sheets in seven of their 12 games.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have done very well for fantasy managers and all of their defenders and keeper are well worth having too.

I think this could be a very close game with Liverpool winning by the odd goal.

Prediction: 1-2

West Ham United v Manchester City

3pm GMT, London Stadium, London

West Ham drew 1-1 away to Huddersfield in their last game and that point kept them four points above the relegation zone. They have won two of their last three home games and they scored seven goals in those games. They have only kept one clean sheet in their 12 games, but they're unbeaten in three games.

Marco Arnautovic and Felipe Anderson have both done quite well for fantasy managers, but this might not be the best game to have either of them.

City won 3-1 at home to United in their last game to keep their two point lead at the top of the table. They have taken 11 points from their five away games with no other team conceding less goals away from home. They have scored 15 goals in winning their last four games and they have six clean sheets in their last eight games.

Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are the best fantasy options in the City team with the two Silvas and all of their defenders and keeper well worth having too.

I can’t see West Ham having enough to get something from this game and City will probably win by at least a couple of goals.

Prediction: 0-2

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea

5.30pm GMT, Wembley Stadium, London

Spurs won 1-0 away to Palace last time out and they're now only one point behind third placed Chelsea. They have lost two of their four home games with only three other teams scoring less goals at home. They won six of their last seven games and they kept clean sheets in four of their last six with only the top three conceding less goals.

Harry Kane is still by far the best choice for fantasy managers in the Spurs team particularly with Kieran Trippier injured.

Chelsea had to settle for a 0-0 draw at home to Everton in their last game and that draw saw them drop below Liverpool into third place. They have won four of their five away games with only Spurs and Arsenal scoring more away goals and no other team conceding less. They’re one of three teams still unbeaten with only City scoring more goals and only City and Liverpool conceding less.

Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso are must haves for fantasy managers at the moment with the rest of their defenders and keeper worth having too.

This is a big game for two teams trying to keep pace with the top two with a draw the most likely outcome which doesn’t really benefit either of them.

Prediction: 2-2

Sunday November 25

Bournemouth v Arsenal

1.30pm GMT, Vitality Stadium, Bournmouth

Bournemouth lost 2-1 away to struggling Newcastle in their last game, but they just about held on to their place in the top six. They have only lost one of their six home games, but that was their last home game against United. They have only won once in four games and that was against the bottom club while United are the only team in the top half of the table who have conceded more goals.

Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser are both excellent choices for fantasy managers while David Brooks isn’t the worst choice either.

Arsenal came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Wolves in their last game to stay fifth in the table. They have taken 10 points from their last four away games and only City have scored more goals on the road. They are unbeaten in 10 games, but they have drawn the last three after winning the previous seven.

Pierre-Emireck Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are the Arsenal players to have for fantasy managers as long as they’re both fit to play.

I think this will be another very close game with Arsenal just about managing a narrow victory.

Prediction: 1-2

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Huddersfield Town

4pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves almost managed a very good win away to Arsenal in their last game, but they had to settle for a point in the end. They have lost their last two home games and conceded five goals in those games after being unbeaten and only conceding three goals in their first four home games. The point at Arsenal was their first point in four games and only six teams have scored less goals.

If he’s fit to play Matt Doherty is the best fantasy option in the Wolves team with Raul Jiminez not far behind him.

Huddersfield drew 1-1 at home to West Ham in their last game, but they're still second last with only Fulham below them. They haven’t won away from home yet with only Fulham and Burnley conceding more away goals and only Cardiff and Newcastle scoring less. The four points they have taken from their last two games is their best run so far this season and no other team has scored less goals.

I can’t see any Huddersfield players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

I think Wolves will be too strong for Huddersfield and should win with at least a couple of goals to spare.

Prediction: 2-0

Monday November 26

Burnley v Newcastle United

8pm GMT, Turf Moor, Burnley

Burnley got a good point when they drew 0-0 away to Leicester in their last game, but they're only one point above the bottom three. Only Palace have taken less points at home while only Fulham and Cardiff have conceded more goals on their own patch. They haven’t won in five games and they conceded 13 goals in the three games before their 0-0 draw at Leicester with only Fulham conceding more goals.

If he’s fit to play Johann Berg Gudmundsson is the Burnley players to have for fantasy managers while Joe Hart has done quite well too despite all the goals he has conceded.

Newcastle won 2-1 at home to high flying Bournemouth in their last game and that win moved them out of the relegation zone. They haven’t won away from home, but they have drawn three of their five games with only Cardiff scoring less away goals and only the top three conceding less. They’re unbeaten in three games and they only conceded one goal in those games, but only three teams have scored less goals.

Despite their recent improvement I’m still struggling to see any Newcastle players to recommend to fantasy managers.

I can’t see too many goals in this game, but I think Burnley might just manage a much needed win.

Prediction: 1-0

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
