Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 33

It's that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I did very well last week with four perfect predictions, three correct outcomes and three incorrect. However, I'm still in third place in my predictions league, as you can see from the table below, with very little hope of retaining my title.

Saturday April 15

Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth

12.30pm BST, White Hart Lane, London

Spurs brushed Watford aside last week, but they're still seven points behind Chelsea with only seven games left for both teams. They're the only team unbeaten at home with 14 wins in 16 games and they have won their last 11 games at home with only Liverpool scoring more goals on their own patch. They have won their last six games and kept clean sheets in three of them and they have conceded less goals than any other team.

Dele Alli is a must have for fantasy managers with Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son, the Spurs defenders and the returning Harry Kane all looking very good too.

Bournemouth lost 3-1 at home to Chelsea last week, but they still have seven points to spare over the bottom three. They have only won two of their 16 away games with only Hull and Swansea conceding more goals away from home. Their defeat last week was their first one in six games and only the top seven have scored more goals with only Swansea and Hull conceding more.

Josh King has been in fantastic form for fantasy managers and has made himself a must have, but there's not too much else to choose in their team.

I can't see anything other than a comprehensive Spurs victory in this game.

Prediction: 3-0

Crystal Palace v Leicester City

3pm BST, Selhurst Park, London

Palace beat Arsenal 3-0 last week to ease their relegation worries, but they still have some tough games to go. No other team has lost more games at home with nine defeats in their 15 games, but they have won their last three at home without conceding a goal. They have won five of their last six games and kept clean sheets in four of them as they continue to move away from trouble at the wrong end of the table.

Palace play twice next week which makes Wilfried Zaha look very attractive to fantasy managers at the moment and their defenders have been quite good in recent weeks too.

Leicester lost 4-2 at Everton last week, but they only went down 1-0 away to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night to keep their Champions League dream alive. They have only won once in 15 away games with only Hull and Swansea conceding more goals away from home. They had won five games in a row before losing to Everton and their relegation fears are almost a thing of the past.

Jamie Vardy is on a good run at the moment and he has to be a consideration for fantasy managers.

Both teams would really like the three points in this game, but I think Palace might just sneak a narrow win.

Prediction: 2-1

Everton v Burnley

3pm BST, Goodison Park, Liverpool

Everton won 4-2 at home to Leicester last week and they will go up to fifth in the table if they win this game ahead of United and Arsenal playing their games. Only the top two have won more home games than Everton and they have won their last seven home games while scoring 26 goals in the process. They have taken 31 points from their last 15 games and only three other teams have conceded less goals.

With 10 goals in his last five home games Romelu Lukaku is an absolute must for fantasy managers while the Everton defenders could do well in this game too.

Burnley got a very important 0-0 draw away to Boro last week to move eight points clear of the bottom three. They are the only team without an away win and only Hull have scored less goals away from home. They have only won once in their last nine games and have only scored one goal in their last four with only the bottom two scoring less goals.

As I've said for a long time now the Burnley defenders are very good fantasy choices, but only when they play at home with the exception of last week of course.

I think Everton should have more than enough to win this game with a couple of goals to spare.

Prediction: 3-1

Stoke City v Hull City

3pm BST, BET365 Arena, Stoke

Stoke looked like they might get something at home to Liverpool last week, but they ended up losing 2-1. They have lost their last two home games, but they were against Liverpool and Chelsea and they were unbeaten in eight home games before that. They have lost their last four games and only scored two goals in those games, but one more win should be enough to at least insure their Premier League safety.

I can't say too many Stoke players have done too much recently for fantasy managers, but their defenders might fare well in this game.

Hull lost 3-1 at City last week, but other results meant they stayed out of the bottom three for the moment at least. They have lost more away games than any other team with 13 defeats in 16 games and no other team has scored less or conceded more goals on their travels. They have won three of their last five games, but they were all at home and only Swansea have conceded more goals.

Kamel Grosicki has done well for fantasy managers since joining Hull, but only when they play at home.

I think Stoke should get their home form back on track with a narrow win in this game.

Prediction: 1-0

Sunderland v West Ham United

3pm BST, Stadium of Light, Sunderland

Sunderland lost 3-0 at home to United last week and it looks like just a matter of time before their relegation is confirmed. They have taken less points at home than any other team with only Boro scoring less goals at home and they haven't won in the last seven on their own ground. They have only taken one point from their last seven games and have failed to score in all of those games with only Boro scoring less goals.

I can't see any Sunderland players to remotely interest fantasy managers.

West Ham won 1-0 at home to Swansea last week to move eight points clear of the bottom three and within touching distance of maintaining their Premier League status. They have lost nine of their 16 away games, but only the top six have scored more goals away from home. Their win last week was their first win in eight games and a win in this game would probably mean all fears of relegation are gone.

With Michail Antonio injured it could be down to Manuel Lanzini to do the business for fantasy managers in this game.

If Sunderland don't win this game I think they can give up their dying hopes of staying up and I think that will be the case with West Ham winning narrowly.

Prediction: 1-2

Watford v Swansea City

3pm BST, Vicarage Road, Watford

Watford lost 4-0 at Spurs last week and they were lucky it wasn't more, but their nine point cushion from the bottom three should see them safe for another season. They have won seven of their 16 home games and have won their last two at home with clean sheets in both games. They have taken seven points from their last seven games and a win against the third from bottom team in this game would almost certainly keep them up for another season and increase their hopes of a top 10 finish.

If he's fit to play Troy Deeney is the Watford player most likely to make a difference for fantasy managers.

Swansea lost 1-0 at West Ham last week and their Premier League status is looking decidedly dodgy with only six games to play. They have lost 12 of their 16 away games with only Hull conceding more goals on the road and they have lost their last five away from home. They have only taken one point from their last five games and they only scored two goals in those games and games are running out for them in their fight to stay up.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been the Swansea player to have for fantasy managers, but he hasn't done much in the last few weeks.

Swansea really need to get something from this game, but I think Watford will just about get the better of them.

Prediction: 2-1

Southampton v Manchester City

5.30pm BST, St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton

Southampton won 1-0 away to West Brom last week to give themselves a good chance of finishing as high as eighth. They have only won six of their 14 home games with only the bottom two scoring less goals at home, but they still have five home games left to play. They have taken 10 points from their last five games and are still hopeful of finishing as high as eighth with a couple of games in hand on West Brom.

If he's fit to play Manolo Gabbiadini is a very good fantasy choice while Nathan Redmond and the Southampton defenders have done well in recent weeks.

City won 3-1 at home to Hull last week to stay fourth and they're only two points behind Liverpool with a game in hand. Only Chelsea have won more away games than City and they're the top scorers away from home too. Their win last week was their first one in five games and they're going to need a few more in their last seven games to secure a top four finish.

Sergio Aguero is still the City player to have for fantasy managers with Raheem Sterling returning to form last week and Leroy Sane a possibility too.

I think this will be a very close game and Southampton might just put a dent in City's top four hopes by taking a point.

Prediction: 1-1

Sunday April 16

West Bromwich Albion v Liverpool

1.30pm BST, The Hawthorns, Birmingham

West Brom lost 1-0 at home to Southampton last week and they'd in danger of losing eighth place to the same team. They have won nine of their 16 home games with only five other teams scoring more goals at home even if they have lost two of their last three at home. They have only won once in their last six games and they failed to score in five of those games, but the chances are they will still finish in the top half of the table.

The West Brom players haven't done an awful lot for fantasy managers recently and it might be best to avoid them.

Liverpool came from behind to win 2-1 at Stoke last week and those three points kept them in third place. That was their first away win in six games, but only City and Arsenal have scored more goals away from home. They have taken 14 points from their last six games and they have scored more goals than any other team.

With Sadio Mane injured the best fantasy options in the Liverpool team could be Phillippe Coutinho and Roberto Frimino.

I think West Brom will give Liverpool a tough test and they might just manage to get a point off them.

Prediction: 2-2

Manchester United v Chelsea

4pm BST, Old Trafford, Manchester

United won easily away to Sunderland last week and they're still hopeful of a top four finish this season. They have drawn nine of their 16 home games with five draws in their last six games at home and only six other teams have scored less goals on their own ground. They are unbeaten in 21 games, but they have drawn 10 of those games and only Spurs have conceded less goals.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the United player most likely to perform for fantasy managers during a very busy time for them.

Chelsea bounced back last week with a 3-1 win at Bournemouth and they still have a seven point lead at the top of the table with seven games to go. They have won more away games than any other team with only United conceding less goals away from home. They have won five of their last six games, but they haven't kept a clean sheet in nine games and only Liverpool have scored more goals.

Eden Hazard is the Chelsea player to have at the moment with Cesc Fabregas a possibility too if he plays.

United's busy schedule will make this game a tough test for them, but I think they will get their 10th home draw of the season.

Prediction: 1-1

Monday April 17

Middlesbrough v Arsenal

8pm BST, Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough

Boro drew 0-0 at home to Burnley last week and like Sunderland they looked to be doomed to life in the Championship next season. No other team has won less games or scored less goals at home and they haven't won in six games on their own ground. They haven't won in 14 games and they failed to score in nine of those games with no other team scoring less goals than Boro.

I can't see any Boro players who might do anything to impress fantasy managers this week or before the season ends either.

Arsenal were abject in their 3-0 defeat at Palace last week and it looks like a top four finish could well be beyond them this season. They have lost their last four away games and conceded 12 goals in those games, but only City have scored more goals away from home. They have lost five of their last eight games and they conceded 16 goals in those games.

Alexis Sanchez hasn't done much for fantasy managers in recent weeks, but he's still a good bet with a couple of double gameweeks to come before the season ends.

Despite their awful record away from home recently I still think Arsenal should be good enough to win this game.

Prediction: 0-2

That's it for this week.

See you next week.
