Arsenal's New Away Kit To Be Revealed In Spetacular Style

Arsenal are entering the final season of their deal with Nike and with it comes yet another new Arsenal kit. It's to be launched at 3.30pm today outside the club's Armoury shop, but as usual Twitter came up with some photos before the event. As you can see from the photo below the new shirt has taken the place of the ones usually on show outside the stadium.

I've always been a fan of Arsenal away strips in yellow and blue and this one fits the bill just perfectly. I'm sure the launch will be a spectacular event later today and sales of the new kit will probably be very good too. I haven't been the biggest fan of many of the kits Nike have come up with but at least their last one is a good one.

The wait to see the team in the new strip shouldn't be too long with the fourth league game of the season being a trip to Sunderland. With Sunderland wearing red Arsenal will have to put on their new yellow and blue one for what could be the first time. There is of course a chance the team will get to wear it in the away leg of their Champions League qualifier and I'd be shocked if it didn't make an appearance in a per season friendly or two.

My earliest memory of Arsenal is winning the FA Cup in 1971 in those colours and so many other great moments have come in yellow and blue too. Hopefully it's an omen of things to come this season and the club can return to their trophy winning ways. For the moment enjoy the photo and look forward to seeing the players wearing it next season.

I'd like to give credit to whoever first posted the photo but that's never an easy thing with so many retweets doing the rounds. I first saw it posted by @FantasyYirma but I'm sure he got it from elsewhere.

That's it for today.

See you tomorrow.

  1. Spirit of invincibles at work again. Similar away kits, and similar years. 2003/2004=>2013/2014 anyone? Similar trophies too I guess, at least I pray...

    1. We'll need a few players to add to the squad to get anywhere near that level. It's hard to believe it's been 10 years though.

  3. I'm impressed with the new style, but still underwhelmed with the lack of forward movement by the club. I was sure that more would have been done to harmonise the lifeblood of the club, namely the fans. Seems to me the club doesn't seem to notice the unease we feel. Fingers crossed they have a plan.... What happened to the Puma deal ??

  4. The Puma deal kicks in for 2014/15 as far as I know so this is our last season with Nike. I hope we get some top quality players to calm that unease you speak of but it's by no means certain we will no matter how hard we try.

    2. The ITKs will be right in the end when we sign someone no matter how many other times they have been wrong.
