Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 10

It's that time of the week again when i attempt to predict the outcomes of this weekend's Premier League games. I didn't do very well last week when I managed only two correct outcomes, and eight incorrect ones. It was a very strange week for results, and I only managed to get the Arsenal and Newcastle wins right.

I lost some ground to he leader in my predictions league, but I'm still in third place overall. I'm hoping to do a little better this time around, and hopefully make up some ground on the two people above me. Here's a look at how my predictions league table stands.

Everton v Man Utd Everton Vs. Manchester United

                                                     Saturday October 29, 12.00p.m., BST

Everton had a very good win away to Fulham last week, but they then lost at home to Chelsea in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night. The biggest disappointment for them on Wednesday night was the red card Royston Drenthe received, as he will be ruled out of this game. Everton's home form hasn't been great so far this season, but they will certainly be up for a game against the reigning champions.

The best bet for any fantasy manager in the Everton team would seem to be Drenthe, but he is suspended for this week.

United were absolutely thrashed at home by Manchester City last week, and they find themselves five points off the pace in the league. They need to start winning games again with only one win in their last four Premier League games. They have always been given a very tough game in this fixture in the past, and they can expect nothing less this time.

United players aren't performing so well in the last few weeks, but Wayne Rooney and Nani are still the best bets among their players.

I think this will be a close game with plenty of excitement, and it will end up all square.

Prediction 2-2

Chelsea v Arsenal Chelsea Vs. Arsenal

                                                   Saturday October 29, 12.45p.m., BST

Chelsea were more than a little unlucky to lose to QPR last week despite having only nine players for all of the second half. They're still in third place, but they are now six points behind the leaders. They have to be clear favourites to win this game, as long as they can keep their discipline and play their own game.

It's hard to look beyond Frank Lampard as long as he is chosen for Chelsea, and Ramires is a pretty good bet too. Juan Mata, Daniel Sturridge, John Terry and Jose Boswinga all look good bets too, but I have a feeling Fernando Torres might soon be back to his best now that his domestic suspension is over.

Arsenal are on a good run after their poor start to the season, but this game will be a real test for them. Their away form has been poor in the league so far, as they have only one point in four away games. They need to put in a performance to show that they have a real chance of finishing in the top four, and the return of Thomas Vermaelen from injury could be just the boost they need.

It's hard to look beyond Robin Van Persie for any fantasy manager at the moment, but Aaron Ramsey is quietly putting a few points on the board too.

Chelsea have to be strong favourites to win, but I have a feeling Arsenal will upset those odds by putting pressure on a weak Chelsea defence.

Prediction 2-3

Man City v Wolves Manchester City Vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

                                                   Saturday October 29, 3p.m., BST

City had a magnificent 6-1 win away to United last week, and they followed it up by scoring five goals away to Wolves in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night. They have won all of their home games in the league with relative ease so far, and anything other than a  comprehensive win for them would be a huge shock. If City decide to rest some of their players for their midweek Champions League game it might just cause them a problem or two, but I doubt it.

The list of City players to choose from seems endless at the moment, but I think Sergio Aguero and David Silva are the best bets.

Wolves just about managed to stop their run of defeats by taking a late point at home to Swansea last week. They were soundly beaten by City in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night, but they did leave a lot of their first choice players out of the team. City did the same thing too, but their second string is an awful lot better than Wolves' and it may be the only hope Wolves have in this game.

Wolves players are hard to choose at the moment, but Kevin Doyle looks like he might be on a good run of form.

I think City will have far too much for Wolves and they will record another comfortable victory.

Prediction 4-0

Norwich v Blackburn Norwich City Vs. Blackburn Rovers

                                                   Saturday October 29, 3p.m., BST

Norwich have only lost one of their last five Premier League games, and that was against champions Manchester United. They're eighth in the table after a great point away to Liverpool last week, and they look like they will steer clear of the relegation zone. Their home form has been pretty good, and they will be expected to beat a struggling Blackburn team.

At the moment Anthony Pilkington looks to be the best choice among the Norwich players for any fantasy manager.

Blackburn are sitting on the bottom of the table at the moment, but a win could see them move out of the relegation zone. If they can reproduce the form they showed in beating Newcastle in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night they just might have a chance of getting a result. The pressure on manager Steve Kean is growing by the week, and they need to start climbing the table soon or he will lose his job.

Blackburn players have done very little so far to be included in any fantasy team, and my prediction that Junior Hoilett might be one to watch seems to be failing.

I have a funny feeling Blackburn will get the win they so badly need.

Prediction 1-2

Sunderland v Aston Villa Sunderland Vs. Aston Villa

                                                   Saturday October 29, 3p.m., BST

Sunderland had a very good win away to Bolton last week to give themselves some breathing space at the wrong end of the table. They have been far from impressive so far, but if they can play like they did last week they should continue to climb the table. Sunderland have only won one of their four home games so far, and they need to improve their home form.

It's hard to look past Seb Larsson for Sunderland at the moment, but Nicklas Bendtner is looking capable of getting quite a few points too.

Aston Villa went through the first seven league games of the season unbeaten, but they have lost their last two games. They have been far from convincing in my opinion, and i think they could struggle this season. They haven't won away from home yet this season, and if their home form falters they could be in a lot of trouble.

Gabriel Agbonlahor is still the Villa player to have at the moment, but over the season Darren Bent tends to score plenty of fantasy points.

I think Sunderland will have a bit too much for Villa and record their second win in a row.

Prediction 2-1
_______________________________________________________________________________
Swansea v Bolton Swansea City Vs. Bolton Wanderers

                                                   Saturday October 29, 3p.m., BST

Swansea have been very impressive since their promotion to the Premier League, and they are unbeaten at home so far. They haven't conceded a goal at home either, and they have to be clear favourites to win against a team in the relegation zone.

Michel Vorm, Scott Sinclair and Danny Graham are all decent fantasy buys at a good price with Vorm probably the best bet.

Bolton have lost all five of their home games in the Premier League, but they have won twice away from home. They have the worst defensive record in the league, and if they don't sort out their home form relegation will be a very real possibility for them.

The early season form of Martin Petrov and Ivan Klasnic has faded, and Bolton have very few players looking like they will perform well for any fantasy team.

Swansea have to concede a home goal at some stage, and I think Bolton have to draw a game at some stage too which could see this game end all square.

Prediction 1-1

Wigan v Fulham Wigan Athletic Vs. Fulham

                                                   Saturday October 29, 3p.m., BST

Wigan have now lost six Premier League games in a row, and relegation is staring them in the face at this very early stage. If they can't start taking points again very soon they could find themselves falling far behind the other struggling teams. They have only scored six goals in nine games, and that simply isn't good enough.

Ali Al-Habsi would seem to be the only Wigan player worth buying for any fantasy manager, as he continues to perform well in goal for them.

Fulham have remained in the Premier League over the last few seasons because of their home form, but one win in five at home has left them just outside the relegation zone. Their away form has been very poor with only one goal and one point in four games this season, but they will see this as a game they have a real chance of winning.

Danny Murphy and Bobby Zamora are the two best bets so far this season for Fulham, but if Zamora continues to miss chances like the one he did last week that might change.

I think this game could end up even which won't do either team a lot of good.

Prediction 1-1
_______________________________________________________________________________
West Brom v Liverpool West Bromwich Albion Vs. Liverpool

                                                   Saturday October 29, 5.30p.m., BST

West Brom have taken eight points from their last four Premier League games, and they are playing quite well at the moment. The loss of Shane Long to injury after a disgraceful challenge from Alan Hutton last week will be a blow for them, but it might give a chance for someone else to make a mark. There haven't been many goals in West Brom's four home games so far, and this could be a low scoring affair too.

Chris Brunt is West Brom's best fantasy performer at the moment, but Peter Odemwingie might do well while Long is out injured.

Liverpool have not been all that convincing so far this season in my opinion, and their two away wins only came when their opponents were down to ten men. They struggled badly on their travels last season, and I think they will still lose quite a few away games this season. They need to be winning against teams like West Brom if they are to reach their goal of finishing in the top four.

Luis Suarez is the best fantasy performer for Liverpool so far, but that could change with Steven Gerrard back in the team after a long injury.

I think West Brom might be able to do enough to hold Liverpool to a draw.

Prediction 1-1

Tottenham v QPR Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Queens Park Rangers

                                                   Sunday October 30, 4p.m., BST

Spurs are on an excellent run at the moment, as they have taken 16 points from their last 18 available in the league. They still have a game in hand on the teams above them, and many experts are predicting that they will finish in the top four this season. They have to be very clear favourites to win this game, and it could be enough for them to claim fourth place for the moment.

Rafael Van Der Vaart seems to be a must have player for any aspiring fantasy managers, and Emmanuel Adebayor is doing quite well too.

QPR just about managed their first home win of the season against nine man Chelsea last week, but they were far from convincing. They are not scoring many goals, but they seem to be better away from home at the moment. They will have to be at their very best to get anything out of this game.

Anton Ferdinand is the top scoring QPR player at the moment, and he might just be worth buying if John Terry doesn't get to him first.

I can't see anything other than a good win for Spurs in this game, but I hope I'm wrong.

Prediction 3-0
_______________________________________________________________________________
Stoke v Newcastle Stoke City Vs. Newcastle United

                                                   Monday October 31, 8p.m., BST

Stoke are in a good position in the league, and their home form is the main reason for it yet again. They are unbeaten at home, and they have only conceded one goal in their four home games so far. They will feel confident of imposing their game on Newcastle, and getting another three points in this game.

Both Asmir Begovic and Jonathan Walters are in good form at the moment and are the best buys of the Stoke players.

Newcastle are still unbeaten in the league this season, and they are still in the top four too. They have conceded fewer goals than any other team in the league so far this season, and their success has been built on that defence. Their confidence is sky high too, but it might have taken a slight knock when Blackburn beat them after extra time in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night.

Newcastle's defenders are all scoring very well at the moment with Tim Krul, Steven Taylor and Ryan Taylor the best bets.

I think Newcastle's unbeaten record might just come to an end in a very tight game.

Prediction 1-0
