Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 31.

It's that time of the week again, when I attempt to predict the outcome of this week's 10 Premier League games. I had a disastrous week the last time out with a score of -50, but at least I managed to stay fourth in my own league. I'm hoping that I can't do any worse this time, but my advice to anyone would be to bet against whatever predictions I make.

Here's a look at how my predictions league table stands.

SATURDAY

West Ham v Man Utd
West Ham v Man Utd

West Ham have just about managed to climb out of the relegation zone, and they need a result in this game to continue that progress. They have lost only one of their last seven games, and their home form is not that of a team threatened with relegation.

"Manure" are sitting pretty at the top of the league with only eight games left, and they know what needs to be done to win the title. Their away form this season has been far from impressive, but they know they need a victory in this early kick off to put the pressure on the two teams chasing them. "Manure" have a huge midweek game against Chelsea in the Champions League, and they won't want to have to battle too hard for the points only a few days beforehand.

I think West Ham have a very good chance of winning, but "Manure" should be able to get another point towards their title push.

Prediction: 1-1

Birmingham v Bolton
Birmingham v Bolton

Birmingham may have won the Carling Cup, but they need to sort their league form out very soon, or they will be faced with relegation. They have only four home wins this season, and they have scored less goals than any other team. There are so many teams in the relegation battle that even one win can make a huge difference, and Birmingham need to start here.

Bolton are seventh in the league, and they could have their highest ever finish in the Premier League this season. Despite that fact they have managed only two wins away from home, and it's hard to see them getting a win in this game either.

With Birmingham scoring very few goals, and Bolton struggling away from home, it's hard to see this game ending in anything other than a low scoring draw.

Prediction: 1-1

Everton v Aston Villa
Everton v Aston Villa

Everton have put a few results together, and moved up to eighth in the table. Their form has been very up and down this season, but they are still fairly impressive at home. They have drawn too many games, but they will see a game against a team threatened with relegation as a real chance to push their rivals Liverpool in sixth place. Their biggest problem is a lack of real firepower, and with the right striker I think they would have done a lot better this season.

Aston Villa are on a very poor run at the moment, and it has left them with a desperate battle to stay in the Premier League. Strangely they had plenty of players in the England squad this week, and there seems to be real problems at the club. If they manage to stay up I wouldn't be surprised to see Gerrard Houlier on his way this summer. If he can't install some fighting spirit and defensive ability into his team they might be one of those teams that go down, despite being "too good to go down".

I think Everton should have enough to beat a struggling Villa team, and pile more pressure on them.

Prediction: 2-1

Newcastle v Wolves
Newcastle v Wolves

Newcastle have slipped just a little recently, and they need a win in this game to keep themselves well above the drop zone. They have had no problem scoring goals at home, with only "Manure" scoring more home goals than them so far. However, they have drawn too many games, and they need to turn a few of those draws into wins.

Wolves will miss the injured Kevin Doyle, but their form has been excellent recently. They are only in the bottom three by virtue of goal difference, and if they continue their current form, it's hard to see them going down. They have lost 11 of their 15 away games so far this season, and it won't be easy for them to get something from this game.

I think Newcastle should just about have enough to get the win they need to take the pressure off them for the moment.

Prediction: 2-1

Stoke City v Chelsea
Stoke v Chelsea

Stoke's home form is quite good with eight wins in the Premier League so far this season. They have an FA Cup semi final to look forward to, and things couldn't be better for them. It all sounds very rosy, but the bottom half of the table is so tight that they are not safe yet, despite being in 10th place. A win in this game would be a huge boost for them, but it won't be easy against current champions Chelsea.

Chelsea are still not particularly good in my opinion, but they have just about dragged themselves back into contention for the league. They have a huge game in the Champions League against "Manure" this week, and that could well play on their minds. They can't seem to decide on their formation at the moment, or which strikers should play. If their strikers can hit any real form they will have a genuine chance of retaining their league title.

Stoke RFC will do all they can to bombard Chelsea, and if Chelsea show any weaknesses they could struggle. I think this game should end all square.

Prediction: 2-2

West Brom v Liverpool
West Brom v Liverpool

West Brom managed to hold on for a point in their last league game at home to Arsenal. They will hope to do even better against a Liverpool team that their manager was sacked from only a couple of months ago. Like so many other teams, they are right in the middle of the relegation dogfight, and points are very precious to them. They have proved to be difficult to beat at home, and they will hope for some return from this game.

Liverpool are sixth in the table, and a few more wins will see them challenging the Spuds for fifth place. They are eventually managing to win a few games on their travels, and they will target this game as another chance for three points. Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez will hope that Steven Gerrard can return from injury to supply them with the opportunities to score a few goals.

I think Liverpool's away form will continue to improve, as they manage a narrow victory.

Prediction: 1-2

Wigan v Tottenham
Wigan v Tottenham

Wigan got a very important win in their last game, to give them real hope of staying up. They're still rooted to the bottom of the table, but a win in this game could move them out of the bottom three. If they are going to stay up they will need to take points from their remaining three home games starting with this one.

The Spuds have a huge week ahead of them with a Champions League quarter final against Real Madrid. Before they can even think of that game, they need to get back in the race for fourth place, before it's too late. Their away form hasn't been too bad this season, but their lack of goals is a concern for them. If Rafael Van Der Vaart plays he will make a big difference for them, but he hasn't played too many league games recently, as he seems to have been rested for the Champions League games.

I think Wigan will raise their game enough to get a draw, and put some real real pressure on the Spuds chances of qualifying for the Champions League again.

Prediction: 1-1

Arsenal v Blackburn
Arsenal v Blackburn

Arsenal will play Blackburn in the evening kick off, and before the game starts they will know how both of their rivals have fared. They can welcome Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Theo Walcott and Abu Diaby back from injury, and it could be the boost they need. A win is an absolute must for them, and they are unbeaten in the league so far this year. Arsenal are the second highest scorers in the league, and Blackburn have the worst defence away from home too. The biggest problem for Arsenal could be if Robin Van Persie is unavailable to play.

Blackburn have lost 11 times away from home, and conceded 38 goals on the road. Their goalkeeper, Paul Robinson, has usually had a torrid time against Arsenal, and they will have to defend very well, and ride their luck to get anything out of this game. They're another team in serious relegation trouble, and it could get even worse for them after this game.

Arsenal have only the Premier League left to concentrate on, and I expect them to get all three points in this game.

Prediction: 3-1

SUNDAY

Fulham v Blackpool
Fulham v Blackpool

Fulham are still in the relegation fight, but I expect them to pull away from it very soon. Their form has been good, but they are still drawing too many games for their own good. They have only lost three home games, and their defence is very solid. I expect them to create plenty of chances in this game, and the outcome will depend on how many of them they take.

Blackpool's good start to the season is the main reason they are not adrift at the foot of the league at the moment. They are only one point above the drop zone, and a defeat in this game could put them in the bottom three. They play very attractive football, but they concede too many goals for their own good. Charlie Adam has been fantastic for them this season, but I don't think his efforts will be enough to save them.

I can't see anything other than a Fulham win in this game, but I have got my Blackpool predictions wrong so often this season that it will probably end up otherwise.

Prediction: 3-1

Man City v Sunderland
Man City v Sunderland

Man City have slipped back to fourth in the league, and their priority is now to make sure they stay there. They need to win this game to ensure that happens, and they have a good enough team to cause Sunderland some real problems. As long as Carlos Tevez plays, the goals should follow, and that should be enough for them.

Sunderland are on a very bad run at the moment, with only one point from their last six games. They need to arrest that slide, or they will slip back towards relegation trouble. They have failed to score in their last three games, and it appears that Darren Bent is being sorely missed, despite the form of Asamoah Gyan. It's hard to see them improving on their record of three away wins so far this season.

This is a game City have to win, and I think they will have enough to do just that.

Prediction: 2-0

As usual feel free to tell me where I have gone wrong, or even agree with me if I have somehow managed to make a few good predictions for a change. Don't forget to make any changes due to your fantasy football teams, and in doing so make sure you keep an eye on the teams with extra games and no games in gameweek 33.

That's it for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with my preview of Arsenal's game with Blackburn Rovers.

See You Tomorrow.
