Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 15

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do too well last week with only one perfect prediction, three correct outcomes and six incorrect outcomes which left me still on top of my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands.

Saturday December 26

Leicester City v Manchester United

12.30pm GMT, King Power Stadium, Leicester

Leicester won 2-0 away to Spurs last week to move up to second place four points behind Liverpool. They have lost four of their last six home games with only Sheffield United losing more games on their own patch. They have won three of their last four games with only three other teams scoring more goals.

If he’s fit to play Jamie Vardy is the Leicester player most likely to make a difference for fantasy managers with their defenders and keeper doing pretty well too.

United won 6-2 at home to Leeds last week to move up to third place and they still have a game in hand on the two teams above them. They are the only team with a 100% record away from home with no other team scoring more goals on the road. They have taken 19 points from their last seven games and they scored 19 goals in those games.

Bruno Fernandes continues to impress for fantasy managers while Marcus Rashford is the other United player to interest them.

I think this is going to be a very close game with United probably winning narrowly.

Prediction: 1-2

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

3pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham

Villa won 3-0 away to West Brom last week to move up to ninth place and they have two games in hand on most of the teams above them. They have only taken one point from their last four home games, but only four other teams have scored more goals at home. They have taken seven points and conceded no goals in their last three games, but they have a tough run of games coming up.

Jack Grealish is still the Villa player of choice for fantasy managers with Emiliano Martinez and Tyrone Mings worth having too.

Palace lost 7-0 at home to Liverpool last week, but they’re still within three points of the top half of the table. They have taken four points and scored six goals in their last two away games. They have only won once in their last six games with only Leeds and West Brom conceding more goals.

Wilfried Zaha is the Palace player most likely to make an impression for fantasy managers, but not if they’re going to play like they did last week.

I think this will be another very close game, but Villa might just have enough to beat a Palace team who’s confidence has to be dented.

Prediction: 2-1

Fulham v Southampton

3pm GMT, Craven Cottage, London

Fulham drew 1-1 away to Newcastle last week, but they’re still in the bottom three with Brighton two points above them. They have only won once in their seven home games with only two other teams taking less points at home. They have drawn their last three games and they have a tough run of games on the horizon.

It’s not easy to recommend any Fulham players to fantasy managers, but Ademola Lookman is at least worth a look.

Southampton lost 1-0 at home to City last week to drop out of the top four. They have only lost once in their seven away games and only four other teams have scored more goals away from home. They were unbeaten in 11 games before losing to City last week with only four other teams scoring more goals.

With Danny Ings injured it would seem Che Adams, James Ward-Prowse, Jannik Vestergaard, Jan Bednarek and James McCarthy are all still worth having for fantasy managers.

I don’t think there will be too much between these two teams, but Southampton might just edge it.

Prediction: 1-2

Arsenal v Chelsea

5.30pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal lost 2-1 away to Everton last week and they’re still in 15th place with the relegation places only four points below them. They have only taken one point and scored two goals in their last five home games with only three other teams scoring less goals at home. They have only taken two points and scored three goals in their last seven games and it’s a run they need to end very quickly.

I can’t see any Arsenal players who might make a difference for fantasy managers at the moment.

Chelsea won 3-0 at home to West Ham last week and they moved up to within a point of fourth place. They have lost their last two away games after going unbeaten in the previous five with only three other teams conceding less goals on their travels. They had lost two games in a row before beating West Ham with only Liverpool scoring more goals.

Chelsea’s defenders and keeper have done very well for fantasy managers while Mason Mount hasn’t done too badly either.

There won’t be too much in this game either, but I think Arsenal might just turn the tide with a narrow victory.

Prediction: 2-1

Manchester City v Newcastle United

8pm GMT, Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City won 1-0 away to Southampton last week to move within three points of the top four with a game in hand on most of the teams above them. They have taken 11 points from their last five home games and they only conceded two goals in those games with no other team conceding less goals at home. They have only lost once in their last 11 games and they kept clean sheets in six of those games with no other team conceding less goals.

Kevin de Bruyne is the City player to have for fantasy managers with Raheem Sterling doing well in recent weeks as well as their keeper and defenders.

Newcastle drew 1-1 at home to Fulham last week and they’re still within three points of the top half of the table. They have lost two of their last three away games and they conceded seven goals in those games. They have taken seven points from their last four games, but this is the first of three very tough games in a row for them.

As I’ve said before Callum Wilson is the only Newcastle player for fantasy managers to even consider

I can’t see anything other than a comfortable City victory in this game.

Prediction: 3-0

Sheffield United v Everton

8pm GMT, Bramall Lane, Sheffield

United drew 1-1 away to Brighton last week, but they’re still five points adrift at the foot of the table. They have only taken one point from their seven home games with no other team scoring less goals at home. They are the only team without a win so far and no other team has scored less goals so far with only Leeds and West Brom conceding more.

I can’t see any United players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

Everton won 2-1 at home to Arsenal last week and that win was enough to move them back into the top four. They have won their last two home games with only Liverpool and Chelsea taking more points and scoring more goals at home. They have won their last three games and they kept clean sheets in two of them.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the Everton player to have for fantasy managers with their defenders doing well in recent weeks too.

I think Everton’s recent good run will continue with a narrow win in this game.

Prediction: 1-2

Sunday December 27

Leeds United v Burnley

12pm GMT, Elland Road, Leeds

Leeds lost 6-2 away to United last week, but they’re still 14th in the table and seven points clear of the bottom three. They have only won once in their last six home games with only West Brom and Palace conceding more goals at home. They have lost three of their last four games and they conceded 13 goals in those games with no other team conceding more goals.

Patrick Bamford is the best of the Leeds players for fantasy managers while Stuart Dallas, Mateusz Klich and Jack Harrison have done quite well too.

Burnley won 2-1 at home to Wolves last week and that win was enough to move them out of the relegation zone. They have only lost one of their last five away games and they kept four clean sheets in those five games, but no other team has scored less goals on the road. They have only lost one of their last seven games and they kept four clean sheets in those games, but no other team has scored less goals.

Both Nick Pope and Charlie Taylor have done well for fantasy managers and they’re definitely worth considering.

I don’t think there will be too much between these two teams, but Leeds might get a much needed home win.

Prediction: 2-1

West Ham v Brighton And Hove Albion

2.15pm GMT, London Stadium, London

West Ham lost 3-0 away to Chelsea last week and that defeat saw them fall to tenth in the table. They have taken 11 points from their last six home games and their next three home games are against teams in the bottom five. They have only won once in their last four games, but they have a fairly kind schedule for their next six games.

Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals have done very well for fantasy managers while the West Ham defenders and keeper haven’t been too shabby either.

Brighton drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield United last week and they’re now only two points and one place above the relegation zone. They have taken eight of their 12 points away from home and their only two wins came on the road. Only the bottom two have won less games and they need a win soon to make sure they stay above the bottom three.

I can’t see any Brighton players to interest fantasy managers at the moment.

I think West Ham will bounce back from their defeat against Chelsea by taking the three points in this game.

Prediction: 3-1

Liverpool v West Bromwich Albion

4.30pm GMT, Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool strolled to a 7-0 victory away to Palace last week which saw them move four points clear at the top of the table. They are the only team with a 100% record at home and no other team has scored more or conceded less goals on their own ground. They are unbeaten in 10 games and they scored 25 goals in those games with no other team scoring more goals.

Mohamed Salah is still the must have Liverpool player for fantasy managers with Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold all worth having too.

West Brom lost 3-0 at home to Villa last week after playing for more than half of the game with 10 men as they started life under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce. They’re one of two teams without an away win and only Sheffield United have taken less points on the road. They have only taken one point in their last four games and they conceded 11 goals in those games with only Leeds conceding more goals.

I can’t see any West Brom players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Liverpool victory in this game.

Prediction: 4-0

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur

7.15pm GMT, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves lost 2-1 away to Burnley last week and that defeat dropped them into the bottom half of the table. They have taken 11 points from their last six home games and no other team has conceded less goals at home. They lost three of their last four games and they failed to score in two of those games with only five other teams scoring less goals.

Both Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence have done well so far during the absence of Raul Jiminez, but I’m not sure if Wolves are going to score a lot of goals.

Spurs lost 2-0 at home to Leicester last week and have gone from table toppers to sixth place in just two weeks. They have only lost one of their seven away games and only City have conceded less goals away from home. They have lost their last two games, but they went 11 games unbeaten before that and they have a good run of games coming up.

Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane have done really well for fantasy managers and one or the other if not both of them are almost a must have in any team.

I think this will be a very close game and the chances are it will finish all square.

Prediction: 1-1

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
