Predictions For Premier League Gameweek 11

It’s that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcomes of the upcoming Premier League games. I didn’t do too badly last week with two perfect predictions, five correct outcomes and three incorrect outcomes which moved me up to ninth in my predictions league. Here’s a look at how the top five in that league stands and I’m not too far off fifth place now.

Saturday November 2

Bournemouth v Manchester United

12.30pm GMT, Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth

Bournemouth drew 0-0 away to Watford last week and that point was just enough to keep them in the top half of the table. They have only won once in their five home games and they have some tough home games on the horizon. They haven’t won in their last four games and they haven’t scored in their last three.

Bournemouth players aren’t exactly setting the world alight for fantasy managers at the moment, but Callum Wilson, Harry Wilson and Josh King are still all worth considering.

United won 3-1 away to Norwich last week and that win moved them up to seventh place. That was their first away win of the season, but only five other teams have conceded less goals away from home. The win against Norwich was their first win in five games, but they have a chance to gain some points with five favourable games in a row.

Marcus Rashford is the United player most likely to perform for fantasy managers with Anthony Martial, Daniel James and even Scott McTominay worth a shot too.

I think United will get the better of a close game to take the three points.

Prediction: 1-2

Arsenal v Wolverhampton Wanderers

3pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal led 2-0 at home to Palace last week, but they were pegged back and had to settle for a point. Only Liverpool and Leicester have taken more points at home and they’re one of only three teams unbeaten at home. They have only won once in their last four games and they have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the Arsenal player to have for fantasy managers even if he hasn’t done anything in his last three games.

Wolves drew 1-1 away to Newcastle last week to keep them safely in mid-table. They have only lost one of their five away games with only Liverpool and Sheffield United conceding less goals on the road. They’re unbeaten in five games, but no other team has drawn more games.

Raul Jiminez is the Wolves player to watch for fantasy managers while Rui Patricio and Matt Doherty are good options too.

I can see this being a very close game with Arsenal probably making home advantage count.

Prediction: 2-1

Aston Villa v Liverpool

3pm GMT, Villa Park, Birmingham

Villa lost 3-0 away to City last week, but they’re still three points above the relegation zone. They have taken eight points from their last four home games, but a game against Liverpool could put an end to that run. Only five teams have scored more goals than Villa, but only the bottom three have conceded more.

Jack Grealish and John McGinn have both done quite well for fantasy managers while Wesley Moraes and Anwar El Ghazi haven’t done too badly either.

Liverpool came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Spurs last week which kept them six points clear at the top of the table. They have taken more points away from home than any other team team and no other team has conceded less goals on their travels. They’re the only team still unbeaten with no other team conceding less goals and only City and Leicester scoring more.

They are so many Liverpool players to choose from for fantasy managers, but it’s impossible to ignore Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah while all of their defence and Roberto Firmino are very good options too.

I think Liverpool will be too strong for Villa and should win with a couple of goals to spare.

Prediction: 1-3

Brighton And Hove Albion v Norwich City

3pm GMT, AMEX Stadium, Brighton

Brighton left it late last week, but they managed to win 3-2 at home to Everton with a very late goal, They have only lost one of their five home games and they scored six goals in winning their last two. They have scored seven goals in their last three games after only scoring two in the previous six.

Neal Maupay isn’t the worst choice striker for fantasy managers while Aaron Connolly could be a good choice given his price and his recent form.

Norwich lost 3-1 at home to United last week and they’re now only two points above the only team below them in the table. They have only taken one point from their five away games and they haven’t scored in their last four on the road. They have only taken one point from their last five games and they conceded 12 goals in those games while only scoring two.

Surely it’s time for fantasy managers to give up the ghost on Teemu Pukki, Todd Canteell and Emiliano Buendia as none of them have done anything in five games.

I think Brighton should be good enough at home to take the three points in this game.

Prediction: 3-1

Manchester City v Southampton

3pm GMT, Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City won 3-0 at home to Villa last week, but they’re still six points behind Liverpool at the top of the table. They have scored more goals at home than any other team with only three teams conceding less at home. They have won four of their last five games and they scored 16 goals in those games with no other team scoring more goals.

For me Kevin de Bruyne is the best choice in the City team for fantasy managers while Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Sergio Aguero are great choices too once they can beat the selection merry go-round.

Southampton were absolutely thrashed 9-0 at home to Leicester last week and that defeat dropped them into the bottom three. They have taken seven of their eight points away from home with only three other teams taking more points on the road. They have only taken one point from their last five games and they conceded 19 goals in those games with no other team conceding more goals.

I can’t see any Southampton players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

I can’t see anything other than a comprehensive City win in this game.

Prediction: 4-0

Sheffield United v Burnley

3pm GMT, Bramall Lane, Sheffield

United came from behind to get 1-1 draw away to West Ham last week which kept them in the top half of the table. They have lost three of their five home games with no other team scoring less goals at home and only three other teams conceding less. They have only lost once in their last five games and they only conceded two goals in those games.

United’s defenders and keeper are all doing very well for fantasy managers and available at good prices too.

Burnley lost 4-2 at home to Chelsea last week to remain in mid-table. They are one of only five teams without a win away from home, but they have scored in all of those games. They have conceded six goals in losing their last two games, but their next four games are not quite so difficult.

Dwight McNeil is probably the best of the Burnley players for fantasy managers at the moment with Chris Wood not far behind him as long as he’s fit to play.

I think this will be a very close game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end in a draw.

Prediction: 1-1

West Ham United v Newcastle United

3pm GMT, London Stadium, London

West Ham drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield United last week and they’re still just about in the top half of the table. They haven’t won in their last two home games and only five other teams have scored less goals at home. They haven’t won in their last four games and they have a tough run of games coming up too.

Andriy Yarmolenko and Sebastien Haller are the West Ham players fantasy managers should be considering at the moment.

Newcastle drew 1-1 at home to Wolves last week and that point was enough to take them out of the relegation zone. They have lost four of their five away games with only Norwich and Watford scoring less goals on the road. They have only won once in their last seven games and only Watford have scored less goals.

I can’t see any Newcastle players who might be of interest to fantasy managers at the moment.

I think West Ham should be good enough to take the three points in this game.

Prediction: 2-0

Watford v Chelsea

5.30pm GMT, Vicarage Road, Watford

Watford drew 0-0 at home to Bournemouth last week, but they’re still rooted to the foot of the table without a win to their name. Only Southampton have taken less points at home and no other team has scored less goals on their own patch. They are the only team not to win a game so far, but they have drawn half of their games with only Southampton and Norwich conceding more goals.

I can’t see any Watford players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment.

Chelsea won 4-2 away to Burnley last week to stay in fourth place and they opened up a four point gap to fifth place. They have won four of their five away games with only Liverpool taking more away points and no other team scoring more away goals. They have won five of their last six games and they scored 17 goals in those games.

Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount still look like very good choices for fantasy managers while Christian Pulisic has to be worth considering too along with Callum Hudson-Odoi.

I can’t see anything other than Chelsea taking the three points in this game.

Prediction: 1-3

Sunday November 3

Crystal Palace v Leicester City

2pm GMT, Selhurst Park, London

Palace came from 2-0 down to get a draw away to Arsenal last week and they’re still in sixth place. They have only lost one of their five home games which is a lot better than they did at home last season and no other team has conceded less goals at home. They haven’t won in their last two games and their next three games are far from easy too.

Jordan Ayew has done well for fantasy managers at a very good price while Patrick van Aanholt is worth considering too.

Leicester scraped a narrow 9-0 victory away to Southampton last week to set a record for the best away win in the Premier League era. Only three teams have taken more points away from home with only Chelsea and City scoring more away goals. They have won four of their last five games to move into third place and they scored 19 goals in those games.

Jamie Vardy looks like a must have for fantasy managers at the moment with Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Ricardo Pereira and Ben Chilwell all doing very well too.

I think this will be a very close game with Leicester probably just about taking the three points.

Prediction: 1-2

Everton v Tottenham Hotspur

4.30pm GMT, Goodison Park, Liverpool

Everton lost 3-2 away to Brighton last week and they’re only two points above the bottom three. They have won three of their five home games and they need that home form to hold up considering how bad their away results have been. They have lost five of their last six games and only the bottom three teams have conceded more goals.

I’m not sure there are any Everton players to recommend to fantasy managers at the moment, but Lucas Digne is certainly worth considering.

Spurs led away to Liverpool last week, but they ended up losing 2-1 which dropped them into the bottom half of the table. Only two teams have taken less points away from home with only Watford and Newcastle conceding more away goals. They have only taken one point in their last three games, but they do have some relatively easier games over the next few weeks.

Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are the Spurs players most likely to make an impact for fantasy managers.

I think Everton might just have enough at home to get the better of Spurs in this game.

Prediction: 2-1

That’s it for this week.

See you next week.
